These are probably the most discussed issues in college sports today...so the question is which one (if any) would you change?

Probably should get a poll, but it would be unquestionably, well for me anyways, be the BCS.

The one and done rule needs to go, but some of the best football teams in the nation get screwed with the BCS. BCS, I CHOOSE YOU!

Somebody's been listening to Dan Patrick.. You know he hates getting his poll questions stolen.

BCS because football is better than basketball every day of the week.

1 and done. BCS is a problem, but a full scale playoff is not the answer.

People say that there is equality in college basketball but there are a lot of issues associated with the fact that there are many players who are only at schools for one year. It makes a mockery of the idea of players going to class even more than other sports.

Hate the one and done rule. College Basketball should be more then just an unpaid/underpaid farm system for the NBA where everyone except the player is making a ton of money.

BCS.... Unless you scrap the whole bowl system and go to a true playoff system, teams will always be getting screwed by the bowls because they are more interested in making money instead of rewarding performance on the field.....

Just my opinion.

Agreed.

Personally i dont have an issue with the BCS. Its gotten things mostly right. Even a playoff wont necessarily give us the team that was necessarily the best (look at the NCAA basketball tournament to see that) The only thing i would change is putting conditions on there against conference non-champions. If you dont win your conference, or at very least a division of your conference, you shouldnt be in the title game.

don't like either but BCS times a bazillion, my interest in the mythical national championship lessens every year it's around and I'm a huge football fan.

You caught me. :policeman:

I had a different idea while I was listening and I totally scrapped it to go with DP's poll. Very relevant to this site IMO though. And the timing of it is extremely relevant considering the All SEC bowl for our national championship in football and Cal's Heroes will have most likely have multiple 1-n-dones.

Both are money driven and either way you slice it, the players are making a heckuva lot of moeny for their schools and conferences. I don't know what the solution is for the BCS. If you take 4 teams and do a playoff, then you could have teams 5, and 6 making a valid argument. If you take 8 teams, then 9, 10, 11 could make an argument that they deserve in. Was it right for Saban to vote Okie St. 4th in the final coaches poll?

As for 1 and done, I think it needs to be changed. I'd love to see 3 years, but I don't think that is realistic. I could see 2 years, maybe.

I disagree. if your number 5 or six in the polls then you don't have a valid argument. how many years have we been saying.g at the end of the year. " I really think # 7 had a real shot at the title." I think four works out pretty well althought scrapping the bowls and doing a 16 team is the way to go. and I don't want to hear about well then the players will miss class. how many days of class did ku or uk go to in the month of march ...5? 6?

So you're saying we need to get rid of the SEC? :jimlad:

From strictly a standpoint of standings in the poll, yes, you can make that statement. But I am saying there are 2-3 teams who could say that they should be in the top 4 and should have a shot and the polls are too subjective. I'm not sure there is a perfect system.
