Not an Abdelmassih guy by any means, but he is the only assistant on the list with 4 or more 20 win seasons.
 
Didn’t realize Doc Sadler had landed back at Kansas, good for him.

Given what we all perceived Abdelmassih’s coaching strengths to be, I think he found the perfect role. Don’t hate the player…

Exactly. We had some great players here during his tenure. None of my business to know how we got them lol.
 
Wasn't Nick Nurse on staff for a day under McDermott?

McDermott's record was much closer to .500 than I expected. I don't remember watching many wins those years.

Both Nick Nurse and Jeff Grayer. Weird to think about the alternate history if McDermott hadn't taken the Creighton job.

I remember Fred Quartlebaum was supposed to be the next big thing when he was at Iowa State. Everyone wanted to get him. I assumed he was going to be a head coach very soon.
 
Right before Hoiberg left to go to the Bulls, he hired TJ and dipped like a month later. Prohm luckily kept TJ but I remember TJ was a candidate for the head job along with Prohm. He coached that season and then left for South Dakota State.

When I was putting this together I didn’t recognize the name but I recognized his face from KU’s bench, I’m like oh it’s that dude!

Another fun fact about the Morgan coaching search, Jeff Lebo (currently an assistant at North Carolina) turned down Iowa State. He took Auburn the following year. He was our first choice.

Two thoughts:
As others said Abdelmassih found the perfect gig for him.
Also when Rutter was here expected him to be a head coach some day.

II remember he was the candidate when LE was fired.

I was confident he was going to be our head coach. If I remember right his wife didn’t want to come to Ames. We dodged a bullet on hiring Lebo

Saw him on the bench during the ISU or some other KU game I thought.
