if either we dropped Iowa or Iowa dropped us from the schedule? After reading all the season ticket dialogue -- I started thinking that Iowa kind of has us by the noogies.

I am sure JP adopted this ticket policy to encourage Cyclone fans to support our team -- but in the back of his mind he had to be thinking he could get some Hawk fans to buy season tickets just for the Iowa game.

The acid test on this is would this same ticket strategy work if we only played UT? I don't think so.

There has been some talk from some Iowa fans I know that they want to drop our game as they think they could stick it to us financially. I have argued against that -- but now I am not so sure.

If the little 11 ever becomes the little 12 -- this might be an issue ... but I sure don't like to think our financial future is tied to the sqwauks.:nerd6bs:

The real reason Iowa wants to drop us (ISU), is that good old Iowa, doesnt want to take a chance on losing another five times in a row. That's the real reason behind wanting to drop ISU from their schedule.

The "Lets Stickit To Em" is just an added benefit of NOT playing ISU.

Don't worry Clone fans, the U of I will NOT be permitted to drop ISU because the Iowa Legislature won't let it happen.

Read your history boys and girls I was around in the early 70's when Iowa did not want to play us and the Pols said "Oh yes you will play Iowa State"!

Historically correct..........It was almost a mandate by lawmakers to play the game statrting in 1977........it would create a "polictical storm" in Iowa if EIU didn't play the game......yes it is not in their best interst to play ISU......look what would have happened in'06 if we (ISU) had previaled last Sept.......EIU 5-7 and no bowl game!
