I poked around in the forums but didn't see anything posted on this. Did I miss it?...

Does anyone have the scoop? This really wrecks our Saturday plans!
:realmad:

They have been talking about this on the radio KXNO and 1700 the Champ for a week. It seems that from how I understand it, Dish is from Colorado, and want to put on the PAC12 network, and aren't even working with the Big10 network to get a deal done. Better make plans to go to your favorite watering hole to watch the game.

Just heard that today as well. Really ruins our plans too. But I suppose es tas hasn't taken all my money yet, might as well throw some more at em.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with BTN's requirement that it must be on standard tier in Big Ten states and it's ever increasing carrier fees. No way a company like Dish abandons the desires of most of the country just because it's located in Colorado.

They've done this "warning" several times with Mediacom in the past and it never happened. I'm not too worried about it

Carriers seem to be more willing to pull content than they used to be, especially in re-negotiations. We're on DirecTV and lost the Viacom block earlier this summer for a week or ten days, until they settled. All those channels were replaced by a mix channel and a .1 channel with a continuous loop of a message from the CEO. I believe the carriers have more power, hopefully that leads to ala carte cable choices. Then I'd only have to pay for BTN every other September.

I'm thankfully not affected, but yesterday they were saying that there will be no temporary agreement. As others said, it'll probably be a short term deal, but for cyclone fans, that's the worst. We miss the only game we actually care about on the BTN.

If Dish tossed AMC overboard, along with MILLIONS of Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, and Mad Men fans.... there's no way they are caving in for THOUSANDS of Big10 fans.

Blows for me, our gang (mixed fan base) was going to tailgate in IC and watch the game in the lot on my dish. Now... not sure.

I talked to dish network via the chat function so that I would have record of the conversation and he told me not to worry, that I would be getting the game on Saturday. Fwiw...i will try again today and see what they tell me...

I did this as well, and saved a screenshot of the conversation with "Rebecca". I was "assured" that they would not "drop the BigTen Network". That may have been a toying with words though. If I don't get to see the game tomorrow I will drop Dish faster than they can say Direct TV. It helps that my neighbor is a Direct TV installer.

I am with Dish on this one and if that means not having the game on tomorrow so be it. I can honestly say the only times I have watched Big 10 Network is when ISU/Iowa is on so for all I care Dish can drp it. I have no problem listening to John Walters on the radio.

This is good news...want to see the BTN drop off the standard tier on all major carriers. Be a nice hit to their ego. With all the networks starting up, there is no way they can all be on standard tiers. Carriers should just all agree to put them on the sports package add on.

Like I said in the other thread: I am rather conflicted on this whole thing. I want to watch the game, but I hate that any of my money is being funneled to the B1G and their crappy, over-rated athletics. DISH is fighting to keep my rates low and to say f-u to the Big 10. I appreciate that. Just do it next week.

I already plan to listen to John Walters. I dropped the Sports Pack and don't plan to renew it even if BTN reaches agreement. I might go to BWW in second half if it is a good game.

Is there anywhere that the radio broadcast is streaming online? In the past, I think a Fort Dodge channel has failed to turn off their streaming. I would much prefer to watch it, but radio isn't a terrible back up plan.

Seamus (ID: LE7): No need to worry.
Seamus (ID: LE7): You will be getting the channel.
********: So you will have the BTN on this Saturday
Seamus (ID: LE7): Yes, *****.
Seamus (ID: LE7): Is there anything else I may assist you with?
********: Thank you. That is all.

Last year the cyclones android app was able to stream the radio. I don't know if it does that again this year or not.
