What style of offense are we looking at?

I've heard Toledo's offense described as power running, but the Toledo poster said the OC was also too quick to ditch the run. Does the QB play under center? I formation? Fullbacks? I guess I don't remember what Toledo ran against us this season.

I am no Toledo expert, but I would expect it won't be a ton different than what we saw this year Post-Mangino.

I watched a lot of Toledo games and noticed that it is a definite run type of game. They like to get the defense guessing and then they stack the box and then have one on one match up with the passing game. I was actually impressed by how fast they passed the ball and if it didn't work then to throw the ball away. They also like to roll the qb left or right, depending on how the line is handling the other line. They had a good amount of big yardage gains both running and passing.

I'm watching the full game replay of Toledo @ Arkansas on youtube. They run very similar sets to what we've been running. QB has not run the ball much, in fact, he has hardly been touched through 2 quarters. The SEC announcers are raving about the pass protection. This is with FIVE new starters on the o line playing their first game of the season. They end up allowing 4 sacks all season, 0 through the first 7 games. That's unheard of.

Toledo wins the game, the 3rd MAC victory over the SEC West All-time.

This^ 4 sacks all season!!! That is a big win in my opinion. The quarterback was not so much accurate but his protection made up for it and with Campbell being an offensive line coach, I think he knows how important the line will be!

Toledo was much more balanced than they get credit for, I liked that they had 3 RB's that averaged over 6 carries a games, those backs gained 894, 870 and 404 yards respectively. They had 5 different players with 3+ receiving TD's and 3 players with over 500yds receiving.

For the year they rushed for 2557yds on 459 attempts and threw for 2751 yards on 382 attempts. That's nearly perfect balance when you consider a team that goes 10-2 is naturally going to run the ball more due to consistently being ahead.

Correct....power run game from the spread; very little running from the QB;

I will say on the plus side....several years ago we were "Bubble Screen Central"; the past couple of years we've been throwing the ball down the field more frequently....and "GASP", even throwing to our Tight Ends;

Sounds like a mirror image of the issues we have had under the coach we just fired.

These...yes please

I would love to run a Heavy Shotgun offense with 2 TEs who can actually catch the ball. Hopefully we can bring in some better receiving TEs soon too.
