Is my memory accurate that Sam Schuyler arrived on campus and wrestled his first year? (I know he was a transfer from Buffalo, but he didn’t RS yr 1 here did he?)

Also, if Gannon G comes back for for his last year (didn’t he try to wrestle at cornel or Loras) we don’t recruit Sam?

I’m glad Sam wrestled for ISU and is still a part of the program today. However, if GG wrestled one more year Yonger goes to HWT last year.

Am I off on any of these foggy memories?

I think you're pretty accurate in your time line. I don't think GG really wanted to use his Covid year. It would have been hard for him to improve on his prior years AA placing because of Gable, Parris, Cass, etc. Hwt was LOADED that year. GG said on a stalemate show that he couldn't hardly believe what the Loras coach was offering to come back for 1 year. The coach was fired shortly thereafter. He didn't say why the coache was let go but it sure is a big coincidence in timing. Sam had a great year but just couldn't get past the top guys. Yonger has really improved on the mat. Credit to him and the coaches. I hope we see similar progress by AE.

He was a grade ahead of me in high school. Helped him get through Geometry class to stay eligible.
