What if Kentucky was the first #1 seed to lose first round?

How far would we go if Kentucky lost 1st round?

Not probable, but if it did, how far would we go?

Sweet Sixteen? I think we could take Indiana.

Elite Eight? Duke?

I'm starting to see a lot of wild speculation and looking way ahead similar to what was going on around here before ISU faced Texas in the Big 12 Tournament. One guy even posted repeatedly that Texas "didn't have a chance". (I assume the MOD's banned that joker.) That turned out well. This team could get beat by anyone if they play a stinker. In the tourney, they won't necessarily have to have a stinker to get beat.

No chicken counting on my part. I will just take every win from here on out as gravy.

I'm still solidly convinced that ISU will be the first and only team to ever lose as a #1 seed in the tournament. I'm sure the Sports Gods are still holding that reservation for us. It's why it hasn't happened yet and I've seen too mcuh crazy **** in the 35 years I've been an ISU fan to think different. It's the one thing that scares the **** out of me about ISU ever becoming great at Basketball. Kind of :jimlad:, kind of not.

First off, Kentucky doesn't play in the first round as pointed out and as far as the possibility of UK losing to any 16 seed in the 2nd is well...basically impossible as this point until college basketball actually sees it happen. 0% chance.

So you're saying the only way we make it past the second round is if Kentucky loses first round? It's almost like you're saying that ISU no chance against Kentucky.

my thoughts exactly. but i'm going to worry about unconn before i begin to worry about another team.

I'm with the OP and refuse to recognize play in games as the "first round". "First Round" should be when everyone gets to play. Play in games are even less interesting than mid-major tourneys. IMHO

Stay with 64 my friend.

UK doesn't play in the first round.

I see the NCAA has gotten to you. It will be a cold day in hell before I recognize the play-in games as the first round. I'm not even a fan of the term "first four" or whatever else people can come up with to try to defend this bastardization of a beautiful 64 team tournament.

Just out of curiosity, if we come out and lose to UConn in our first game, would any of you have a problem hanging an NCAA Second Round banner from the rafters of Hilton?

I'm with you on this one. Those games are play-in games. The first round that anyone that isnt a fan of those 4 teams cares about is thursday.
