What Arkansas fans are saying about the Big 12

Pretty much all SEC fans hate the Big 12. They couldn't stand it two years ago when the Big 12 was arguably better than them in football.

Their version of cyclonefanatic is www.hogville.net, free site for all to read. The Monday Morning Quarterback forum is the one with all the Big 12 talk (or at least was yesterday). They are the site largely credited with running Houston Nutt to Ole Miss.

From hogville.net: "Baylor and ISU aren't college football teams.....they are hangers on.....they feed off the tit of the haves so they can survive....they bring nothing to the table in modern football.

They dont count."

Looks like we get no respect from Arkansas either.

Says the team doing the exact same thing in the SEC. I don't want them getting any of our money.

The ND thing is something I can get on board with though, and it now makes a lot of sense considering the way things are shaping up.

Yeah, that attitude really irritates the hell outta me when in reality they're no better either. What have they done in the SEC since they joined? Yeah, not that much. No wonder I am not nor ever will be a Razorback fan.

haha, sad but kind of funny

theres some irony of them talking about being "modern".. no offense to anyone living there, but some parts of that state are a mix of back to the future III and deliverance.. It has good and bad areas like any state, but the bad areas are pretty damn creepy.

They look at the big 12 the same way the SEC looks at them. Second rate team that basically the whole league looks down upon. My brother went to Arkansas. THey used to be good when they were in the SWC,

no offense taken. NWA is a whole different animal compared to central and southern Arkansas. We went down to Stuttgart a few years back to pick up a lab and I was totally caught off guard by the cultural differences. We're talking night and day here.

No kidding.

I once got lost in NW Arkansas when I missed highway 44 in Joplin and ended up on 540 towards Ft. Smith. After I realized my mistake, I decided to drive west on backroads towards Oklahoma to get back on 44. I ended up on a winding blacktop through the Ozarks that had been "adopted by Knights of the Ku Klux Klan." (No joke). I actually saw someone cleaing a shotgun on the steps outside their trailer while his kids (presumably) ran naked through the yard. Needless to say, after this brief jaunt into the country I quickly turned my car around and followed 540 south to Fr. Smith, and then hightaled it towards Norman on Highway 40. I never thought I would be happy to see Oklahoma, but I did breath a big sigh of relief when I crossed the border.

Never been there but have heard Fayetteville is actually kind of cool by college town standards. Any one with first hand experience feel free to correct me.

Of course the "pig-sooee" thing is weird, don't blame Altman for his change of heart there.

Fayetteville the city is a lot of fun and game day there awesome. Between Fayetteville and Ft Smith on the backroads though is a completely different story!

True, the college atmosphere there is pretty cool. Another cool hotspot sitting right next to the campus is Dickson Street. A lot of popular bars there. One in particular, George's Majestic Lounge, had Disturbed playing there last summer. It's also pretty awesome when you see around 100,000 bikes lined up along Dickson during Bikes, Blues and BBQ.
