I have stayed at that place, it was a great place. That was 10 years ago though.

Paid $140 a night (non refundable rate paid in full back in Dec got us $30 off a night) here and I've heard all sorts of good things about it: Kansas City Luxury Hotels: Hotel Phillips downtown Kansas City Missouri MO area conference centers suites romantic family vacations getaways packages destinations weddings meetings events planning catering Did some price shopping before we booked it and I don't think there is a better deal in downtown KC that I could find.

We stayed at the Westin for the football game last year and it was great! About a $5 cab ride to and from the Power & Light district if you're going out at all.

Also, we did the Hotel Phillips for the NCAA Tourney at Sprint Center last year, and it was nothing short of ideal. The rooms were great, the service was awesome, and it's definitely within walking distance of everything down there.

I've stayed at the Westin several times,its nice, but no activity, and the booze is REALLY expensive. No place to go to drink. I prefer the Plaza area. Lots of sports bars, eateries and activity. The other deal at the Courtyard is where I will stay. If your over 65, you would like the Westin the best. Just my experience.
