Weather Channel for Aug 31

They had the worst artificial turf I have ever played on. It might as well been just concrete.

Yeah, I feel like K-state was one of the last schools to move away from astro turf to the modern version. I remember stop at Jack Trice as a kid one summer day and my dad took us out on the field. At that time the gates were always open. The old astro turf was awful and none of us could believe they played on that surface. I want to say it was only a year or two later when they tore it out and put in grass.

Damn, what a bunch of pussies. There's a 40% chance of occasional rain showers and you guys already have the turf torn up for the entire year, replacing with field turf and all "Woah is me". There's an Iowa State football game in 4 days and we aren't going to suck!

Yep, Jack Trice was no picnic in the day. I remember being at a freezing cold day when we upset ranked Oklahoma State and Thurman Thomas. A few thousand of us "stormed" the field and the cops pretty much let us have fun. We tossed around the football and were goofing off. I remember getting taken down on the field and it was essentially concrete.

Ugh, Saturday was looking so nice just a couple of days ago. Now it is literally the worst weather day expected of the next ten.

Why can't we have nice things?
It's only Tuesday and they're calling for scattered showers. It could rain for 20 minutes at 9 am and be partly cloudy the rest of the day and the meteorologists would be correct.

I don't disagree but there has been rumblings that CMC would rather have turf. If he wants turf I do too...

I personally don't care either way, as long as Campbell sticks around to enjoy the benefits of the field turf he campaigned for.

Regardless, it seems to me with all these years of mediocre football on a grass field we missed an opportunity to grow it out in hopes of slowing down our faster opponents. Every time I accidentally stumble into a Northwestern game it looks like their grass was cut to like 8".

NW slowing down slow teams almost seems redundant...

Winner Winner Winner!

What happened last year for the first game is not going to happen this year.

The turf is going to be fine.

If you think its "too cold" wear jeans and sweatshirt.

Have fun and don't bi*ch.

Could be worse! I was heading to Florida for the weekend to go to the Boise State @ FSU Game in Jax, but Dorian is going to at least drop her water on the state as either a Depression, Storm or Hurricane. So, I'm staying put!
