Per multiple reports Coach Bob Sanger lost his battle with cancer this morning. I consider myself very fortunate to have known him and learned directly from him. I am better because of him. RIP Coach, the many you have influenced will finish what you started from Hancock County across the country.

Grew up in Kossuth and Hancock counties. West Hancock football was an institution under Sanger. RIP

It's pretty special that he got to watch his son lead the team he did did for so many years to a state title last year.

Cancer sucks.

My son has had the oppurtunity to play for the last 3 years for Coach Sanger. He had great success on the football but greater sucess leading young men. He was a great example to the players he coached and holding them accountable to a high standard.
He will be sorely missed by many in the north Iowa area. As a parent I will be thankful for being a part of my son's life and being fair even to a young man that isn't that talented but loves the game. We will miss you coach
