That doesn't' sound like an "A-Team"-type attitude. That sounds more like a bad attitude. Which is guess is sort of the same thing, depending. Never mind.
 
I am sick of the negative peoople on this board. Why don't we just sack up and beat them. How bout that. INstead of crying. What did you want to go play Wyoming and Idaho so we have a good record and get made fun of by everyone. Called a mid major. Get real people.

To be clear, we have never really ever gone to a BOWL....but for sake of argument, I can find 6 wins on that schedule relatively easy. From a competition level it is the same thing we have always had with the exception of having to have our teeth kicked in by Texas every now and then.

No ******* joke. I totally agree.

I'm just happy as hell our coaches don't have this attitude, and our players don't either. I guarantee you they RELISH the opportunity to play the best. That's half the reason they came here, most likely. I mean honestly, let's go to work and make a damn name for ourselves.

You are correct.

People can say 'play the best to be the best' all you want, but that is, frankly, dumb. Sometimes you get better by playing someone better. More often, you take on the heavyweight champ and you get your *** knocked to the ground, and you've got nothing but a broken nose to show for it.
 
You don't know that. Things change. We could very well be in this situation in 2-5 years. Or the conference could add two teams or six teams. Does anyone REALLY believe that this conference is going to look the same in 20 years? I don't.

Other than Texas and OU, we've beaten all the rest of those teams in the past 10 years. Blew out A&M at home. Beat Iowa several times. We're not going to go 9-3, but all it takes is 6 wins for a bowl. 6-8 wins is certainly attainable if our football team keeps improving like it is.

I am continually amazed at how significant the portion of our fanbase is that would prefer to play weaker teams, have less revenue, and be in a lesser conference.

I guess 10 plus years of playing in the pathetic Big 12 North has made us forget the days when we were in the best conference in the land...the Big 8. I believe one year in the 70s we were 8-3 with those three losses to NU, OU, and CU...who happened to be 1, 2, and 3 IN THE COUNTRY FOR A LARGE PORTION OF THE YEAR.

I guess you would have preferred the Big 12 imploding and us moving to the MAC...huh??

WHAT? All the 70s bowls were REAL bowls. The '71 Sun Bowl was well earned and deserved...

The 70s were a very proud time to be a Cyclone. They didn't cry, Majors wouldn't let them, when they had to play the top 3 teams in the nation...

And I bet CPR won't let them whine either
