The inability to score in the post is going to start taking its toll on the outside shooting. If the defense doesn't have to worry about inside scoring and having to drop down to help out, they are going to start pressing hard on the perimeter and contest the all the outside shots.
It doesn't seem to me that a team can be successful in the Big 12 without at least some semblance of a post game...
Well, that's what you get when your "best" post player doesn't like playing like a post player.
I think having our two stars, Lacey and Ezell, going a combined 8-26 from the field, 2-9 from 3 pt. land, and letting Lehning from K-State drive right past them for 18 in the second half might have something to do with it too.
yea true, it just bugs me every time I see Wieben lining up to shoot a three. There are other players on the team who are there to do that, go do YOUR job.
I'm on board with mred. Her stepping back to take a trey would be MORE effective if she was scoring a little more in the post, but i have NO problem with her going 1-2, 0-1, for a game. Especially if it's under 10 on the shot clock, or if she's absolutely wide open. Obviously there would be game situations in which we wouldn't want this, but those would be obvious. Craig brackins is the same way. "Unfortunately" he went off against baylor last year, and that got stuck in his head and he never recovered.I strongly disagree. Wieben has shown throughout her career that she can hit threes at a reasonable percentage. Her career percentage is 36% (20/55) and she's 3/8 this season. It forces opposing defenses to not sag off on her and giving the wings more of an opening to drive.

Right now, ISU needs somebody to step up and play the post, get inside scores, and get to the foul line. It seems that this should be priority one for NW. ISU has enough people to shoot the three.
