I don't see a thread for this, but Joens and Scott both were at Team USA tryouts recently (Joens for U19, Scott for Pan-Am Games).

The U19 team was selected yesterday, and Joens was named an alternate. She was an alternate last year, but joined the team when someone had to drop out. She ended up being team captain and was #2 in scoring.

The Pan-Am Games roster was released today, and Scott was not selected. They don't specifically name alternates, but I'm guessing we would have heard had she been selected an alternate.

Pan Am roster looks pretty awesome, except Peyton Williams is surprising to me....She definitely has her moments, but doesn't strike me as being on that level.

A few years ago I posted about a girl who had signed with a certain school and I got a Disagree. I sent a pm to the guy and asked "how you could disagree with the fact that a particular girl had signed with a certain school. He answered me back and said he disagreed with me putting it on Cyclonfanatics. Said if the girl wasn't coming to ISU I shouldn't have said any thing about it. I thought that took the cake.

Did you call him a flaming hemorrhoid? I would have.

gee, you have to remember that there are fools who have never really watched the game that love to post about how bad the sport is. I just ignore their idiotic posts as they know nothing of a fantastic sport to watch.

First game is tomorrow at 12:15 AM (yes, just after midnight) and starts off at a high intensity against #7 world ranked Australia. They will continue preliminary play in a July 21 contest against No. 15 South Korea (12 AM), and after a rest day, the USA will cap preliminary games July 23 against No. 14 Hungary (12 AM)

Dox him.

I'm not familiar with the stat EFF (efficiency), what is considered great, and what is considred poor? Joens had a 3, and Clark had a 2. Highest on thw team was a17.

It's something like pts+reb+ast+stl+blk-missed shots-turnovers-fouls

EDIT: That doesn't quite match the box score (linked here: http://www.fiba.basketball/world/u19women/2019/game/2007/USA-Australia#tab=boxscore ). Another site says fouls drawn and blocks received may also be included, depending on who is calculating it (blocks received makes no sense -- you are already penalized for the missed shot). Also, it looks like missed FT do not count against you.

Side note: Joens and Clark both looked like they definitely belonged, although neither had a particularly great game. But I completely get the love for Bueckers. In a game full of great players, she looked like she had an extra gear.

She is #1 on all of the 2020 lists for a reason for sure. Wish she had elected to stay and play for the Gophers in 2020 but that had about a 1% chance of happening. Maybe less than 1%.
