Southern is on their annual pilgrimage through P5 teams in non-conference.

Lost to Baylor by 32 and Texas by 45 but by only 3 to Purdue and 4 to Miami.

We beat them by 24 last year.

No selling so far, although you should be able to pick up one before you go to your seat. If you don't get one, let me know and I'll get one for you.
She's as good as her word but, programs should be available for pick-up for free around Hilton. The Exhibition game they had they all piled in Johnny's for some dumb reason and that threw some of us off) They had them available a couple weeks ago for the field trip game though so hopefully they are around tonight

They finished second in their regular season conference last year, won the SWAC Tournament and lost a play-in game to #16 Sacred Heart in the NCAA's. In short, that annual pilgrimage thru multiple P5 schools must work for them! This strikes me as a dangerous game for our precocious youngsters - I hope they're ready to play tonight! Go State!

Anyone have any timeframe or update on Emily Ryan? Wouldn't need her tonight but we have some tough games coming up!!

Lost ... 4 to Miami.
Miami was ranked #44 in NET last year, so that's quite a decent showing for Southern. Miami shot 39% overall, 4-24 on threes, and 9-20 on FT, so that's probably what kept Southern in the game. Southern did lead early in the 4th, so it wasn't a case of "not as close as it looked".

Southern was #260 last year. They are pretty short -- they start a 6'2 F in the post and have a 6'0" guard, and all other starters are around 5'9. Their shooting has been abysmal (34% overall, 29% on threes, 56% on FT) and wasn't much better in the Miami game. Their opponents have generally shot poorly -- Baylor's the only one over 45% on FG against them.

Southern has 29 assists and 71 turnovers on the season. They get a fair number of steals and blocks. They will be ugly offensively, but this could be a close game if they make ISU ugly on offense as well. It should not be close, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be close.
