Johnson is in 8th grade, and she already has a scholarship offer from Minnesota. She led her varsity team in scoring last year (yes, in 7th grade) and is reportedly the #1 2028 recruit as ranked by ASGR.

In 29 games last year (again, this is varsity), she scored 19.0 ppg on 45% FG shooting and 39% 3pt shooting. She also led the team in rebounds (8.0), assists (5.4), steals (2.9) and blocks (0.6) per game.

She switched to All-Iowa Attack last season. Going to be a big follow here in the northland the next four years.

Link to some info on her. She has OCD and basketball helped channel that into something productive for her. She's also not a skinny 13-year-old 8th grader either, listed at 160. The OCD thing reminded me a little of fellow Minnesotan and Cyclone, Jake Sullivan.

"Now Chloe spends hours each day in the Johnson’s home gym, working with Dyami and on her own. Teach her a skill on Friday afternoon and by Saturday morning the 13-year-old has it mastered. Show her some basketball video and her comprehension of the concepts discussed is nearly immediate. She makes 200 threes a day and sometimes shoots in complete darkness. It’s uncanny. Basketball has become Chloe’s safe space, a refuge of peace and contentment. The result is what we see today. On the court she’s truly remarkable, off the court she’s just as special." - Prep Girls Hoops

There's some very interesting info on Chloe at the MN message board, including a post by her mom.

It was mentioned this summer on the Gopher Hole forum that the Star Tribune up here was working a long feature on Chloe Johnson. Star Trib dropped that this morning. In-depth feature, good read. Iowa State connection in that Jake Sullivan gets a mention as the family contacted him when his story about his own OCD was featured in Star Trib feature in 2019.

Sullivan suggested a coping strategy when Chloe's mind became consumed by an unwanted thought: Picture a trash can and take whatever is sidetracking you and imagine throwing it into the garbage. Chloe still uses that tactic today. If she's feeling anxious about something, she will tell herself to throw it away.
Little by little, life improved as Chloe learned to manage her symptoms. Her OCD became less debilitating.
"Did that article change Chloe's life?" Heather says. "It saved her life."

Jake is hard-core Iowa State. If the "trash can idea" helped Chloe it'd be wise to listen to his other advice.
