Hell of a lot better than Pelicans! But my guess is no matter what the indian head is gone, and so the name will suck because how would you project a braveheart in a logo? Put Mel on the side of your helmet?
Am I the only one that thinks all sports teams with native american themed names are going to switch to something different then 15-20 years from now there will be complaints of discrimination because no sports teams have native american related names?

You probably are in the minority. But calling a team "Redskins" has the same connotation as calling a team the n*****s to many. I don't see anyone complaining about teams not being called the n-s.
It's not really the same at all, but whatever. The insinuation by yourself that it is the same might be pretty offensive to one side or the other. See where this goes? In a big f'ing circle.
Either take away all names, leave all the names and make new teams not have names, or just let everyone do whatever they want.

Redskins is fine. I'll be disappointed if they change it. Just stupid if they cave to the few that deem it offensive.
Dont the vast majority of Native Americans not care about this? Or am I thinking of something else.

Has anyone ever heard the word Redskins used derogatory? No, its not in the same category, and its insulting to put it in with worls like the one you mentioned. This PC stuff has gotten so out of hand we dont even know what we're supposed to be offended by, so we just assume everything is meant in the most demeaning, worst way possible. It's a great time to be alive!
Oh, since Native Americans have been driven off of their land and now comprise a very tiny small minority, and none of us even has any interaction with them, we don't care that we name a team their equivalent of the n*****s? There's a reason you've never heard it. We nearly wiped them off the face of the Earth, and we took their land!
Sorry, but this isn't PC getting out of hand. This is actually offensive to a race of people. And just because you are too ******* backward *** stupid to realize it doesn't erase the truth of it.
