Was in Waco and watched Baylor

NW State is bad so hard to say how good Bears are. They are quick but it looks to me like they are soft. I think if you hit 'em in the mouth they will backdown. It will fun to seeif Griffin can make it to halftime w/o being hurt. He took a shot on the first series and just did not look like a tough minded kid.

I would say we will be able to slobbernock these guys.:notworthy:

We were mentally outmatched (Bates just left team, devastating loss to KU week before, AA injured, etc.)...not physically.

We win by 2TDs against Baylor this year. I've been saying that all Summer and I'm sticking to it.
 
Bates leaving the Team, 1 day before they left for Waco did not Help the Baylor Effort last year.

It should be a great game in Ames this year.
 
It depends on if ISU tries to run it well. The most disappointing thing thus far is that Baylor has had trouble stopping the run. If ISU does what Connecticut did, then yes it could be a problem.

We are running for about 200 yards per game.

Chizik didn't help team morale either by choosing to punt from the Baylor 37 yard line on a 4th and 5 while down 28-3 with only one minute gone in the third quarter.

He pretty much signaled that they were giving up at that point.

NDSU, Kent, and Army man. They're good performances but it's like believing that Texas A&M's offense is REALLY #1 in the nation because of how they looked against teams that don't rank in the top 110 in total defense. Running for 200 yds a game in non-conference is a lot different than trying to do that in the Big 12. No matter what team we are talking about.

I specifically remember not being impressed with Baylor even though they waxed us.

The team had alot going on that game between the ears. If they beat us handily this year, I will admit what you claim, but I really don't see it happening.

We ran for 190 against Iowa too.

All this is true. Iowa State does rank 21st in the nation in rushing offense. However Baylor ranks right ahead at 20th, so it's pretty even. And although ISU's SOS is helped by Iowa, Baylor did play Wake Forest and Connecticut. They might not exactly be national powerhouses, but it's a lot more telling than playing a couple of Sun Belt teams (* cough cough *Nebraska) To make things closer, they both rank near the bottom in rush defense (ISU- 85, BU- 90). However keep in mind the Cyclones have had the advantage of playing their 3 easy non conference games. I'd wait until after Baylor's contest with Kent State to judge how they stack up, at least statistically that is.

Bates left a couple days before our first conference game against Kansas their chief. But I also think it will be a close game. Hard to say if anyone has an advantage in this one.

Baylor was simply better than we were. IMO, not quite as much as it showed on the scoreboard, but the talent difference was obvious.

IMO, we have as good of a shot beating KU or A&M on the road as we do beating Baylor at home. And I don't see many putting KU in the win column but many seem to think this Baylor game is a should win or at least toss-up.

I'd love to be wrong, but I think we're on the bad side of that one by 10+. We just don't have the d-ends to contain that quarterback...nor do we have the discipline in the secondary to stay with guys in coverage when he's on the run.
