Any news on how the recruiting visits went? It sure helped that we won.

Sure didn't help that we booed the team into the locker room. :no6xn: I kept thinking about how those JUCO visitors probably made up their mind by halftime.

Listening over the radio was awful. I have to think it was worse in the stands - like watching a train wreck.

A win is a win is a win. Suck is suck as in suck. Anyone ready for Shreveport? The one thing we have going for us is Nebraska fell apart at home and easily could have lost. KSU lost to Baylor. Winless Colorado lost. Missouri was unimpressive. Kanas looked the best in the North considering they were on the road.

The North is beyond mediocre this year. As far as I'm concerned, just about anybody could take it just like the last few years.

Well the good thing is that the 2 big juco recruits were defensive players. They probably said to themselves "I'll definately start for this team next year". They know theyll get some PT here.

The discussion and expectations of our fan base concerns me.

Since when do depend on the rest of the Big 12 North being weak to enable us a chance to win some games? In my mind, hoping for weak competition is unacceptable. Why are ISU fans ok with this?

Why are we satisfied with last second wins against teams like Toledo, UNLV, and UNI?

Why are we ok with "learning opportunities" even though past learning experiences don't result in improvements?

Going forward, would playing in a consistently bad conference and playing out of conference teams like Wartburg or Upper Iowa be acceptable as long as we win? I sure hope not. This is sad.

When will the fan base wake up and expect well coached and executed football? I remain surprised by the ease to satisfy our fan base. I think it tends to lead to more of the same.

The fan posting on CyFanatic are the only one willing to accept mediocrity. Over on Cyclone Report the uproar is very loud. Can we fire Mac now or do we have to wait until the season is over?

Yep geezer, you hit the nail right on the head. I'm totally ok with how the team is playing.

so back to the purpose of this thread. Any news from Mcfarland and Walker?

I don't think anyone is happy with last night's performance. We're not satisfied with the win, where the hell did you get that idea?

Bump. Jeremy - you hearing anything yet? This was supposed to be a HUGE weekend for BB recruiting.

I got that idea by reading the posts on this forum. To many accept the excuses of the staff and go back to things like "a win is a win is a win". To me it's about playing up to your potential. I would rather play really well and lose then play really bad and win. That's what I judge this team on, not by the Ws.

I hope everyone realizes the recruits are not leaving until today. Jeremy is not there with them. I would expect he will have something to report either later tonight or tomorrow. Be patient...all is well.

Are you telling me that as a fan, who pays good money for this night of entertainment, I don't have the right to voice my displeasure when the TEAM (both coaches and players) fails to perform up to their potential.
Actually that first half, I don't know what you would call that performance.
Look I am sorry that the potential new recruits had to hear us boo (which by the way this may surprise you I wasn't booing, I was talking about how impressive UNI was with people in my section), but I think I am more sorry that they had to witness that terrible excuse of a performance by this team last night.
Of course I am sure that you saw nothing wrong with how we came out to play last night.

I saw the recruits and McDermot hangin around infront of the student section before the game. They appeared to be having a good time as the students got into the organized cheers before the game. Walker was even doing the "whatcha gunna do" side to side bob with the students:wink0st:

Later in the first half near half time, they took all the recruits through the student section. that was the last time I saw them.

Hopefully they hung around for the second half and saw the crowd really get into the game.

I am optimistic we will have a few more b-ball recruits lined up in a few days. It would help put almost everybody in a better mood.

Can we start the b******ball season now? I am much more comfortable on how the bball season will finish before it starts than how the f***ball season will end. Another good poll question.

Hey, Punky, had a bad day? Then come on over and watch the highlight reel for the UNI f***ball game.
