Want Tavon Austin if he somehow falls to us in the first round. If not... I'd be good with taking the best DT on the board.

Would love Austin, and agree.....having a nasty DLine in the NFL can neutralize a lot.

I don't think there is a chance that happens unless they trade up, and I don't think there is a chance that happens.

I think the Vikings are in a great spot to take a player who drops a long way to 23 and is really great value at that spot.

Like a Manti Teo?

I could see them going defense with their first two picks. D-Line and linebacker or D-line and cornerback. If Xavier Rhodes somehow falls that far, he'd be an awesome addition to the Vikings cover 2 defense. At LB, I wouldn't mind Ogletree or Aurthur Brown. Not a huge fan of Teo, but I could see them taking him.

Rick Spielman does seem to love his ND players

that's what I'm afraid of.

Rudolph is awesome, and Harrison Smith is going to be really good. Teo? Possibly, but I don't think he's worth the risk. He got flat out exposed in the National Title game.

As a bears fan I hope we pass on Te'o and take that Kstate kid. Edit: Georgia kid.

Yeah I want the Vikings to get Ogletree, but I dont see how he will get past New York, Chicago, and Cincinnati.

I mentioned awhile ago that Tavon Austin would be a good pick to "replace" Percy and most seemed to think he wouldn't cut it in the NFL...guess some have changed their opinions

I would say there is a chance, but it is pretty low. Gun to my head I think they go best DT, CB, or MLB available at 23 and then pick their favorite WR at 25 (Hunter, Allen, Patterson).

Those WRs are pretty much all going to be available in the early 2nd, but not the late 2nd so I wouldn't be shocked if the Vikings traded down/up to get into that area, although they already have a ton of picks so maybe up would make more sense.

If they wanted to trade up in the 2nd they could then afford to just go BPA back to back with DT, CB, MLB.

I am torn on Teo since he he produced so much in college, but against NFL competition he looked bad + the circus that will follow him. The issues he had themselves are a much smaller negative than the media attention it gets and will get. It isn't like Teo will be lining up with an overmatched college team in the NFL, he will be surrounded by people to make his job easier than it was vs Alabama and it was only one game.

That being said I'd rather have Arthur Brown, who is a stud that is just an inch or two too short. Ogletree is talented but an idiot.

I would like to see those responses. Lowest I ever saw him considered was early 2nd round, a long time ago.

I really hope they take Minter from LSU...or Ogletree/Brown...and a DT in the first round.

If they take Te'o I'm going to throw a hissy fit...

I hope they wait until the 2nd round to get a WR...there are a lot of quality WRs in this draft and not too many that separate themselves from the others.

Honestly, they can't really go wrong in a draft where the top talent is so close to the top 20-25 talent. There will be lots of really good players there, and the way the draft goes they I think they will have a shot at someone who is going to unexpectantly fall from the top 15 or so.

I wouldn't be particularly happy with Minter, Brown, or Te'o in the first round. But would take any of the three in the second round. Trouble is that's how I feel at wide receiver too, unless Austin somehow fell. I would be pleased with Ogletree in the first round. A DT in the first round seems pretty likely since there are four or five first round type guys.

What I would love to see them do is trade up in the first round if a guy like Floyd or Lotulelei fell a little bit and get a second round pick for picks 23 and 25. Then take an ILB and WR in the second round. Although I doubt either of those two will fall to the low to mid teens. I don't see anybody else I would trade up for beside maybe a couple spots if either Warmack or Cooper are still around at OG, but that would likely be two picks for one (one of the first round picks plus a mid round pick to move up).

Every mock draft I have seen so far has us taking Williams DT from NC with one of those two picks. Their basis of that pick is that his last name is Williams and he is a DT so he fits our system perfectly.

Also, I would love to see the Vikings take a wide out with one of the first two picks, but I could easily see the Vikings not taking one due to the depth at wide out this year in the draft.
