The Vikings have a really young team. Young but talented. There are not a whole lot of positions they need to fill in the offseason. They need a LB to be Greenway's replacement (or eventual replacement if Greenway decides to return), an offensive guard, a deep threat WR and a safety (although Sendejo isn't as bad as people say he is).

Will Mike Wallace be around next year? I don't think he is a great fit for a team that rarely throws the deep ball.

Would RGIII be someone the staff would consider bringing in to back up Teddy?

I saw a mock draft that had us taking Scooby Wright (Arizona LB) in the 1st round. Can you imagine him alongside Kendricks and Barr? That would be an amazing group of LBs. Wright had the injury this year, which could be a concern but he is still a hell of a football player.

The offensive line was a disaster this year and needs to be fixed. Having Sullivan and Loadholt back at full health will be huge, but Kalil is just not getting the job done and Mike Harris sucks. Fusco isn't all that great either. I would love to see a top free agent at guard get scooped up and then draft a tackle. Or sign a tackle and draft a guard. Clemmings has progressed as the season has gone on so I could see him starting over Kalil or maybe kicking inside to RG and starting over Harris.

Most of the pieces are in place and I love the coaching staff. Next year could be really good. SKOL!!

I'd trade our first and get two lineman in the second round then a safety. Then go get Calvin Johnson and ditch Wallace!!!!!!

I have a hard time thinking they'll take another LB high in the draft. They have other needs, and it's hard to get 3 lbs on the field in today's pass happy league. Unless you could get a guy who was a safety/lb hybrid like a Shaq Thompson or Deone Buchanon. I think Wallace will be gone. Too big of a cap number for what he does. O-line, o-line, o-line, is my vote.

That can be a low end draft pick or signing off the practice squad.Robinson and Newman are probably both gone as Waynes will take the #2 CB spot. CB depth will need to be addressed.A 3rd down pass blocking RB is going to be critical. Asiata, Rhett Ellison and Zack Line are free agents and I could see Line getting resigned and maybe Asiata if the price is right. I love Rhett Ellison as he could play TE and FB, but Line as the blocking back and the TE out of Maryland (I'm blanking on his name) is on his rookie contract so I think the writing is on the wall that Rhett is gone.

Exactly what I thought at first, but the more I thought about it the more I like the idea of drafting Scooby. If we could get Scooby in round 1 and then a safety, maybe Darian Thompson, in round 2 then we could have the best defense in the league next year. But then again, the D was solid this year and we lost games because of offensive struggles. But o-line is definitely the biggest need.

Here's something to think about. With McKinnon really coming on, do we put Peterson on the trade block and see if anyone offers a 1st rounder? I think we would have to strongly consider making that deal if it were to come up. With two 1st rounders we could get Scooby (Zoinks) AND an offensive lineman and WR in round 1 and then a safety in rd. 2.

Are we really thinking of picking up Peyton Manning or is that a joke? I love the guy but I don't want a 70 year old QB. I think Teddy (with a little more work) will end up being the franchise QB. He's not quite there yet though.

Getting Calvin Johnson would be huge! A lot of other former NFC North guys have came to Minnesota and had success. Would be a good move by Megatron as well. He would have a legit shot at a Super Bowl, and not be trapped in a team that is just flat out awful. Would also be huge for Teddy to have a WR like that as he takes the next steps to becoming a really good QB.

Yep, OL OL OL ... needs to be #1 priority. Vikes' line is horrible. I'd be shocked if they keep Kalil. Berger was the only real stable one. I expect they'll keep Clemmings - powerful run blocker but struggles to pass block (like rest of non-Berger line). Would be nice to see a free-agent pick-up or two and get some help in the draft.

Other immediate needs:
- Safety: I disagree with earlier poster; Sendejo is not starter-caliber; terrible in coverage; can hit like a load but needs to be back-up and special teams
- WR: would be shocked if they keep Wallace --> another $10M to spend if they cut him; need a bigger WR
- RB: I'd cut AP in a heartbeat; gets nice stats in regular season but has to have the offense built around him, and, as we saw yesterday, has a fumbling problem; can't pass block either; paying him way too much; better to get another back and combine him with McKinnon, who has been more effective than AP in the last few games and allows Teddy to operate out of the shotgun
- OC: Norv has no imagination; gotta be better options

Diggs can return punts and I'd bet McKinnon probably could as well. Or we could draft someone who could do both and then release Patterson.

I have been hearing that Ellison will be gone. Pruitt has been looking good so I have no problem with that. I hope we re-sign Line. He is a solid FB.

Waynes has shown a little improvement towards the end of the season. I think he will get to where he needs to be in the offseason, but you're right, we do need to add 1 more CB.

No way anyone would give us a first-rounder for AP. Would you? I'd be surprised if we could get more than a 3rd-rounder --> maybe Jerry Jones makes our day? With the contract he has, I'd think there's a good chance we'd have to cut him; doubt he'd re-do his deal to make a trade happen. I believe he's guaranteed $7M if he's on the roster in early March - or, is the $7M guaranteed regardless? I'd still cut him; would be a net savings, as he's paid way too much.

They can get out from under him for very little, provided they release him early enough. He reworked his deal this past summer to make it more cap friendly, and if I recall correctly, the fully guaranteed money was only for 2015. The rest is only guaranteed against injury, or become guaranteed if he's on the roster past certain dates. I'd go trading block with him, and hope Dallas is desperate enough to offer a 2nd rounder, but I agree, 3rd round is about all you can reasonably expect. He led the league in rushing, this year, but it wasn't a spectacular year for him, and he just doesn't fit with what they want to do anymore. I'd love to see them hand the reins to McKinnon. I think he can be more than satisfactory.

I've heard that Baltimore might not be able to resign Osemele, due to Yanda's contract, and not wanting to tie too much money up in the line. I'd love to see the Vikes grab him, and plug him in at guard, or even see if he can slide back out to tackle. He's a mauler. Price will be high for him, but...

OLine has to be the main focus in the draft and offseason. This regular season has shown me that teams don't need a #1 RB to make the playoffs (Steelers, Seahawks, Patriots, Chiefs, etc) - what they need is blockers up front. Loadholts injury is probably a blessing in disguise as he now gets to play his home games in the new indoor stadium - who knows what the elements have done to the longevity of those OL and DL players.

Osemele at left guard would be perfect! Then Fusco could move back to right guard, Clemmings to left tackle with Loadholt at RT and Sully at center. I would be ok with that line. Still need to add a good rookie prospect for depth.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone offered a 1st or 2nd rounder for AP, just because it's AP. But at the same time, I would love to see what AP could do behind a good line. He was getting dropped right after getting the ball this year, but he made nice runs anytime he had time to do anything.

If you want to win next year you don't dump AP. If Teddy had proven he can take over a game against a good team that's one thing but Teddy is a game manager at best right now. If you can't throw against the defenses selling out to stop the run you just aren't ready to be the focal point of an offense.

Completely agree, but in all fairness the o-line sucks and we didn't have a deep threat. Teddy has a ways to go, but with an improved line and addition of a good WR, I think he will get there.

I'm hoping they dump Wallace and address OL and WR in a huge way in the draft and FA. I
I am skeptical about Loadholt coming back and playing at a high level. I think Greenway comes back, so really on D they could upgrade safety and get CB depth. With a ffull year with Zimmer Wayne's will be good. Zimmer can develop
CBs.

As for Peterson, I can see dumping him,but I think it's a team that ready to make a run next year, so I think you keep him , Especially since his deal is relatively cap friendly

1. No way Clemmings is our Left tackle next year.
2. We are not getting rid of Kalil unless we trade him because I believe he's still on his rookie deal.
3. No one in their right minds would send a 3rd rounder for AP. Those are too valuable when comparing to an overpaid RB that only has a few years left.
4. We are not getting Peyton Manning.
5.Osemele would be a huge get.

Agree on all points + Clemmings will be RT or a G; Kalil won't be on his rookie deal next year; will have to pay him big $ if we keep him next year - no way he's worth that. Much change coming to the OL.

Either Norv or AP needs to go. I'd like it to be both, but, sadly, I expect they'll both be back next year.

This on Kalil. He'll be in his option year. Due 11 million. Minnesota can withdraw their option pickup and cut him for nothing. I don't know that they will, but 11 million is an awful lot to pay someone who gets beat as much as he does

Norv isn't going anywhere, either.
