Vikings pick-six history - Matt Blair

so I was reading on the daily norseman that Chad Greenways pick six vs the Chargers last weekend was the 5th longest in team history.

For some reason I recall Matt Blair returning a pick six for the vikings 99.5 yards vs the Rams back in the day, but its not on the list. Am I just completely making this up? Anyone else remember this?

Blair had a fumble recovery for a touchdown and one other scoring touchdown. 49 total yards on 3 fumble recoveries. No interceptions for touchdowns.

Blair is 3rd all time in the NFL for blocked kicks with 20. I believe Don Shula influenced the rules committee to change the rules to make it more difficult for Blair to block kicks.

Bud Grant said Blair was one of the best players he ever coached. Bud asked the group I was with-- "How many players do you know who were so dominant that the NFL had to change the rules of the game just because of him?"
Bud recognized my Iowa state shirt and commented-- "Matt has to be the best to ever come out of that school".

Thanks for posting this stuff. It is great. I was a Matt Blair fan when he was with the Vikings . . . long before I became an Iowa State fan . . . which gave me another big reason to like him.

I played, scout team mostly, with Matt Blair, he gave me the hardest hit I ever experienced. And then smiled and winked as he helped me up. My favorite Cyclone of all time. Still comes to visit when he is in town. I have a pic of the two of us in our old letterman jackets from back in the day. Wife is trying to find so I can post
