Verizon Wireless Service in NE Iowa

Does anyone know how the service is for Verizon in NE Iowa? My contract with AT&T is up and I am debating if I should switch to Verizon. AT&T works alright up there, but I've had enough of having my calls dropped and cruddy service (I travel around Eastern Iowa for my job). I just don't want to switch to Verizon and end up having terrible coverage where I live. I have an iPhone 3 and plan on buying the 4 when I decide which company to go with.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Insight?

Never had a problem with verizon.

All around very good. I live in Dubuque county and have not run into issues. But if your in the hills (Allamakee and Clayton county) there are serious reception issues.

I don't know about northeast but southwest sucks.

I lived in Howard Co. in 2005 and it was so bad I had to cancel. It was like a half a bar most of the time. The let me out of my Verizon contract for free. Most people had US Cellular up there back then. It's probably changed a lot since then though.
