Heading to Vegas with the wife for 4-5 days end of September. Been there a few times before, but interested what others think are must do's and must see. Any good shows that are can't miss? Restaurants? Experiences, etc? Curious as to what other have found enjoyable outside of gambling and laying by the pool. Thanks in advance :)

Most of it is personal preference. I went just last weekend with some buddies to watch the McGregor fight, and it was quite entertaining.

I don't like staying downtown (unless Nugget), but I always love spending an afternoon there. People watching is awesome, gambling is cheap, and you can walk from casino to casino easily.

Four Queens is a typical downtown casino, but if you are interested in romantic dinner with wife, Hugo's Cellar is a great little secret of a restaurant. They will greet your wife with a rose, serve an awesome table-side salad, and have a great wine list and staff sommelier. Reservations are necessary.

I have seen all the Cirque shows and usually you cannot go wrong. My favs are Love and Zumanity (funny as hell). Absynthe was also entertaining, and my wife has made me take her to BAZ twice. BAZ has some fun ($$) seating that you actually get a table on stage and are a prop in the show.

Been to both Copperfield and Chriss Angel and am hard-pressed to recommend either. Blue Man Group gave me a headache, but as I said, personal preference.

Done the Hoover Dam thing (recommend), been hiking in Red Rock (recommend). Have not done the helicopter tour of Grand Canyon, but on my bucket list.

Have fun.

We dont gamble much spent about 200 bucks on gambling in 3 full days. We dont lay around pools. We didnt leave the strip or downtown for 3 days. Did the rides on the Stratosphere, drank, walked, walked, went to some mid priced shows and got front row seats, they were awesome. Top line shows were spectacular but pricey and not as good as I thought they should be. For a first timer, the sights and sounds were awesome. Also there is a guy selling cheap cold beer out of a suitcase, he never left our sight one night.

The Pawn Stars shop isn't too bad of a trip if you have any interest in that. Either cab ride it or save a few bucks and take the monorail down to the downtown area and catch a cab from there. Go early though, lines can get long especially on a day they are filming. Next time I go I might entertain visiting Kounts Kustoms just to see his showroom of cars.

Personal preference on what you like, there are things to do other than staying on the main strip if you ask around or do some research online.

Hoover Dam, shopping if that's your thing, Cirque show. Would have loved to get some hiking at Red Rock but didn't have time.

I've heard of couples doing the Gondola rides at the Venetian, going up in the eiffel tower or ferris wheel, balloon rides, spa days, etc. and people seem to like it. I haven't done it myself, however.

The Neon Museum was kind of cool. There's a National Atomic Testing Museum that is associated with the Smithsonian.....pretty good.

I highly recommend a hotel on the monorail. No easier way to get up and down the strip

If you like outdoors stuff, there are several wildlife refuges (Ash Meadows, Moapa, Pahranagat) within a 1 or 2 hour drive of Vegas. There's no entrance fees, and most have plants and animals that you will find nowhere else in the world.

Having never shot a gun in my life, I enjoyed going to Machine Gun Vegas. Then we rented a corvette for the day and went out to Red Rock. If I was to do it again, I wouldn't rent a convertible since it was up most of the time because of the heat.

Pinball Hall of Fame, hundreds of vintage pinball machines and video games you can play. (Most are pre 2000, many from the 60's and 70's) Most proceeds go to charity

Spend a night downtown on Freemont Street. Was there a few weeks ago and went to a speak easy called the Laundry Room. I would recommended it.

Hoover Dam is great and next time I will be doing the in depth tour they offer. Just up from the dam there is an overlook of the lake area with some signs showing interesting land marks. Crazy to see how much the lake has fallen.

I highly recommend Vegas The Show. It is kind of a history of Vegas type of thing with some different acts (several of which have come from AGT) in between acts. Only like an hour and a half long.

We went to Mystere which was pretty cool. Make sure you get there early though as there is a preshow act thing.

If you have a car go down to the South Point or Green Valley casinos. South Point has a big glass TV/Radio set in it's sports book and that is where Musberger will be doing his daily show from. Both are more local, laid back and friendlier than the strip IMO.

On my bucket list for our next trip is Red Rocks and the Mob Museum.

Obligatory hooke... Ahh nevermind if your not a gambler than waste you money elsewhere. Eat at a fancy restaurant and go see a show. I'm into live music and would suggest the Brooklyn bowl LV if there is someone playing that peaks your interest. Also a lot of residencies in town obviously. Still haven't been to top golf but that's on my list for my next visit.

Bump. Going with the wife soon, staying at Park MGM. Any recommendations of things to do while there? Is it worth dining at Top of the World or Rivea?
