Never saw anything posted about this, but Iowa State did pretty well at US Nationals.
Jake Varner and the Paulsons won. Here are the two Cyclones.com releases:
Paulson twins win at U.S. Nationals
Varner wins at U.S. Senior Nationals

Varner placed third at the Olympic Trials last summer, which was the best finish of any collegian.

David Bertolino placed fourth at US Nationals, even though he wasn't seeded. He's done pretty well internationally, so far. He's got a blog that I check out.

Both Cyler Sanderson and David Zabriskie were banged up. Cyler placed eighth, though, and knocked off Bloomsburg's Matt Moley, who beat Cyler in the Round of 12 at the NCAA Tournament.

Sorry about digging up old news. Just didn't see it before.

Varner was at 211.5, and Herbert is at 185 still. Bertolino's success is somewhat suprising -- not that he isn't talented, but he's really come on after committing to move up from 174. He was competitive with Varner in freestyle previously, from results I've seen and what I've heard.

I pay attention to these competition, but it's hard for me to get into freestyle, because I can never watch it. University Nationals are coming up this weekend. Reader is going to be at the Pan-Am Championships.

US Nationals will be aired on ESPNU (May 6) and on ESPN 2 (May 11 & June 21).

Overall, good performances by current and former Clones. Here is the link to the senior-level brackets:
