My wife and I are looking to go on a 4 to 5 day vacation to somewhere tropical. We are looking for as cheap as possible, but still having all inclusive if possible. Does anyone know what sites are the best/cheapest? Would a cruise be cheaper, we can drive to Florida to board, but wondering if it is as good as an all inclusive resort type vacation. Thanks for any input!

here's an idea??

sorry, I just cant help myself sometimes

I would love to stay at a resort like the movie Couple Retreat. A hut over the water would be very cool. Anyone know of a place like this?

Isn't all inclusive necessarily going to be more expensive? That's always been my impression. Unless you're planning on eating like a pig and drinking like a fish.

Maybe, but the amount of liquor I drink, and amount of food I eat it is nice not to have to worry about having cash, etc.... It is nice just ordering whatever you want every day.

Ok.....I think my main decision would be made in regard to how many choices for dining would be included. My wife and I ate at about 20 different places in Key West, just to get a good variety, and then went back to the 2 or 3 best ones. But we did spend a mint on it.

I just got back from Couple Negirl Jamaica. It really is paradise. PM me if you want more info about it!

Punta Cana is awesome and cheap(ish).

Where would you fly out of? Check out this website and select your departure city from the right side of the screen. Great last minute travel deals:

I looked at that site from the last thread you linked it in. I think what I would do if I booked one of those would be to take allegiant air to vegas than transfer to another air line there. Seemed prices for the packages including airfare from there were pretty reasonable.

French Polynesian Islands/Bora Bora.
My friend went on a honeymoon there. Although it seemed like a lovely tropical vacation, it didn't make me want to go there. Looks just as nice as Jamaica or some Mexican places, but WAY more expensive and it took FOREVER for them to get there.

My husband and I have really enjoyed going to Isla Mujeres (island off of Cancun). We didn't do all inclusive because it was walking distance to so much. The local restaurants were really good and really cheap! We loved it!

Went to Cancun a few years ago and did not do the all-inclusive. All-inclusive was somewhere around $100-120 day for the two of us. We didn't feel the need to eat and drink constantly, so that seemed high. I was also a little concerned about being 'trapped' at the hotel when maybe their food wouldn't be that great. We free styled it, and easily spent less that the all-inclusive cost, and had the opportunity to eat at great restaurants each night.
