Napier on the hot seat? Only 2nd year, but team looks totally out classed by Utah. If Mertz is the best QB you can recruit, you’re gone.

Too bad ISU didn't take Florida up on the home and home offer when the Gators were looking for OOC series on Twitter, Utah, being one of the series they signed at the time.

Loved watching the Utah defense in the 2nd half, we missed the first half. They went after the QB, kept the offensive line guessing on who was rushing and from where. Gave him very little time in the pocket, and when that happens, turnovers and errant throws are the result. They were taking it too Florida instead of sitting back and letting it happen.
I really wish ISU's defense played with the same mentality, as good as we have been, we allow the other team too often to get comfortable in the pocket and then play catchup after we are down 14 to 21 points.

The new clock rules are going to a problem for a lot of teams this year early in the season. Way too much standing around and not forcing the action. I like the new rule, but they need to add a 2-minute warning like the NFL does, to give a team a better chance to comeback and throw some more strategy, at the end of the game. Do we hurry and try get a play off before the 2-minute warning or take our time and regroup.

Utah was without 8 starters from last year
Florida was 1-13 on third down
Florida ran 21 times for 13 yards

UF also only had one starter from last year’s D. Napier has an uphill battle there but they looked BAD. False starts in red zone, poor special teams, weak oline play… we know that pain. Florida, for all its resources, is a shell of themselves.
