Ya it would be an upset but consider - if Long, Gallick, and Reader win and Ballweg loses I say we win. Not really much of a stretch of the imagination. I'll even consider lopsided hawk victories at 174 & 184 but if Fanny and Gallick don't wrestle we're in deep $h$t.

Long / McSkinny - 3-0
Fanny / Dennis - 3-3
Gallick / LeClere - 6-3
Mueller / Metcalf - 6-7
Carr(?)/Ballweg(?)- 9-7
Reader / M*stall - 12-7
Burke/Borschel - 12-11
Ward(?)/Keddy - 12-17
Varner / Beatty - 15-17
Z/Johnson - 18-17

I hope that ISU can win this, but I really don't expect it. We have to win 3 of the 4 tossups (Reader, Long, Fanthorpe and Carr). Also, Varner and Zabriske will have to make up all of the bonus points given up by Burke, Ward, and Mueller. It's going to be a tough meet but if they wrestle aggressive then maybe there is a chance.

ISU wins this meet guys

With Erickson out and Iowa basically forfeiting 157 this is a win

We only lose at

133
149
174
184

6-4 and a big win

IF Erickson was wrestling I would be worried!

I think it will be a tough meet Mcdonough will be a huge 125 pounder. Fanny has never beeten dennis Gallick has never beaten leclaire mueller will get pounded Ballweg just beat carrs back up sorenson 7-2 in a touny carr beat sorenson by 1 reader has never beaten morningstall burke will be a major decision ward will be phisical enough to keep it close I think but will lose beatty will stall and not let jake score much and z will be out weighed by 30 pounds. I see us winning at 165 197 heavyweight for sure Hopefully long will win and gallick and carr are healthy and we could win. However usually Iowa seems to win most of the toss up matches. Hopefully KJs go get em attitude will help turn the tide. The more fans their for the good guys the better chance we will have to win go clones!

last i heard it was 50 50 but even if they are with all this time out what will thee conditioning be like Iowa will big strong and well conditioned

Per the Register today, both feel like they have prepared well and are ready/want to wrestle on Sunday. However, they said it is all KJ's decision on whether they go or not....but they have hopes they will be in the line-up

I think it might be bad move to put fanny in there he better be 100 percent dennis is tough and he will put a lot of pressure on him I just hope he doesn't reinjure it and miss more time. we really need him to be healthy for nationals to have any chance at beating iowa

My thoughts exactly. While it would be great to have them in the line-up and beat Iowa on Sunday...we need to look at the bigger picture here. The ultimate goal is in March, not December.

If they aren't 100% they should sit out. The worst possible thing that happens is they get hurt and are out more time or the rest of the season. Without one of those two guys in the NCAAs we don't have a shot at winning. I'd take a national championship over a dual win against Iowa anyday. I trust KJ will make the right decision

I would much rather have Fanthorpe and Gallick 100% healthy for Midlands (Dec 29-30).

I am thinking the same way. It sucks if they can't go but we have to think about the season. I bet if they are held out they will be the most disappointed two people in Hilton Sunday night.

Yes, beating Iowa would be gravy on Sunday, but if it comes at a cost of potentially hurting either of these two, I would rather lose the dual and clean up late season.

I just do not want another clobbering like we saw in '06.
