Anyone know how he has done in practice this week? Sorry if this has been posted some where, but couldn't find anything. Obviously he will not be 100% either way and would not suprise me if he didnt play at all, similar to what Rhoads did last year with Arnaud in leading NU into thinking he was the starter.

I heard he is pregnant with him and Bo Pelini's lovechild and will be on bed rest for the game on Saturday.

:jimlad:?

Winner of this game has the inside track on the Big 12 North championship. You bet Martinez will play. Team doctors will have the syringes working overtime in the Husker training room. Feelin' no pain.

You sure they would do that to a kid that's only a redshirt freshman?

With all of the guys that have a man-crush on him in this area, there are literally thousands of men that could be that baby's daddy.

The real question for me is not "Will he play?" But rather "Will he be 100%?" As I mentioned in a thread earlier, the injury he sustained is a painful one and, while not debilitating, could cause Taylor Martinez not to be as fast as he has shown he can be. If this is the case, ISU should consider itself lucky.

This!

A Martinez at less than 100% might be better than Zac Lee. If Martinez' ability to scramble is slowed that could be really good for us particularly if he is also not as good a passer as Lee.

And, a strong hit from Knott or Klein early in the game could slow him down and/or make him even more hesitant.

My guess is that he'll play, but Pelini has already shown that if he doesn't feel Martinez is giving them the best chance to win, he'll pull him. I'd expect nothing different on Saturday.

You do realize we are talking about kNU here? The team that looked the other way with the likes of Lawrence Phillips to further their ends. I may be cynical but I am confident they would have no problem risking further injury if they felt they needed him and it helped the team, just as they had no problem enabling Phillips rather than teaching him a hard lesson. Look where he ended up because no one was willing to teach him that lesson. Compare that situation to Mike Taylor's. He was taught that hard lesson and he turned his life around instead of ending up in the slammer. Despite his faults, I give McD credit for that one.

Come on man, there was one incident when Phillips was in college where he was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend and was subsequently suspended, maybe that particular punishment wasn't sever enough and they should have kicked him off the team, but with that exception, nebraska has always been tough on players when it comes to discipline, look up Quentin Castille, who Pelini himself kicked off the team for these types of shenanigans or Terrell Farley, whom was removed from the team in 96 (if I remember correctly) for drunk driving arrests..I get what you're saying about Phillips but I think you're way off base with your assumption that Nebraska football will do anything to win, even at the expense of the young men that play on the team.

Agreed. We (ISU) dont have much room to talk as far as trying to win at the expense of a player, just wiki Jack Trice.

This is laughable.

Castille was indeed kicked off. However he was only kicked off after he failed more **** test for weed than Rickie Williams. 6th strike your out.

Tough on alcohol? I think Niles Paul has more booze related arrests than the entire current ISU roster. How many games has he missed?

Telafeather's drinking made Niles look like a member of the WCTU and he missed how many games?

Christansen missed how many games for playing hide my ring?

Who is the only school to claim a Heisman Trophy winner that is a felon.... but was convicted of his felony prior to winning the trophy?
