We needed a rim protector last season and he really will help in that department. We can be a quality team again. I think 4th in the league is something do-able. But we need Tre King to be a dude, the transfer guards to help with some scoring, and Eli King to provide some quality backup minutes.
I know it's never been this way in the past but I could see a 10 man rotation this year. Eli, Grill and Watson manning the reserve spots 2-4 until TK is eligible. Allowing those 3 10 games to audition for the 2, 3 spots come conference play.
You shrink when you get older - trust me.
I think Lipsey could end up surprising folks.
I agree. As a freshman, you are really just looking for them to manage the game and not make too many mistakes, and those seem like his natural strong points.
The strength is great for Lipsey, but to my untrained eye the issue is explosiveness. I'm concerned whether he's quick enough to get around a Big 12 defender.
Tre King listed 6'6 is pretty funny to me. He was listed as 6'9 in the portal and we were hoping for a stretch 5 when he committed. Now the question won't be if he can play the 5 but if he can play the 3
He can still play the 4, like he’s always been pencilled to do.
