For those who might be interested, former Cyclone assistant coach Damon Archibald has been hired to be an assistant coach to Reggie Theus at New Mexico State:

My dad lives in Las Cruces, NM, where the university is, so I get to hear all about them (don't worry, I keep him updated on everything ISU). Theus shows signs of developing into a very good coach (although he is only in his 2nd year), and last year once the players bought into his system, they played way above their talent level. This year, they have more talent, so they will be a fun team to follow.

I think Coach Mac will do the same thing here, so I am looking forward to this winter.

The sad truth is that if ISU had not had Damon, WM might have been lost as a head coach. WM was a good dad, but someone had to coach the team.

Good point about Arch, but I'm not sure about the buddy as dad thing. I'm glad my dad kicked my butt when I needed it. Wayne seemed to be more interested in being pals with the athletes instead of the leader they needed.
