According to B12 Radio on Sirius XM, it sounds like Tyler Shough will be the starter this week in Lubbock. Another article suggests it'll be him or Donovan Smith.

Round 1 vs Shough went pretty well.

With an interim HC - Sonnie Cumbie, a new HC hired for next season already part of the team - Joey McGuire, and now a different QB starting, that's a lot of moving pieces. Will this be a wildcard game where TTech plays above their season average, or will this be the hot mess that it appears it should be from the outside?

Colombi has 4 interceptions to 2 touchdowns in the last 4 games. Tech fans seemed pretty pleased with the switch and what Smith did when he came in against OU. Granted, Tech was down 23 at that point..

And OU has a tendency to take the foot off the pedal, defensively, when they get a decent lead.

The way I see it, these guys have been seen by their own staff as inferior options to the guy that had 4 interceptions and 2 touchdowns in the last four games. Either way, if we come ready to play, it won't matter.

I don't know if I buy that. I think there are 3 different QBs we could see Saturday. If Campbell said something like that, I would not bet one tortilla on it being true.
Are we talking about the fantastic, authentic tortillas made with lard or are we talking about the ones we get up here in the midwest?

Thank goodness we have a long and storied history of rising to the occasion against unexpected backups.

To be fair we didn't really have a storied history of playing competitive football games when we played against these unexpected backups.
