NFL: Two LA Groups Interested in Pursuing Vikings

I'll be surprsied if the Vikings don't join the Lakers in L.A.. I'm just wondering how long it will take for another franchise to move to Minnesota?

How many franchises are going to have to move out of LA before they get a clue that it has been tried and hasn't worked? For some ridiculous reason Los Angeles has a tepid interest in pro football.

**** you and the **** sucking mother ******* dog **** *** smelling butt ******* ***** ***ed **** LA mother****er! Damn it.

Ok, I feel better :v_SPIN:

I seriously hope that the Vikes stay in Minnesota. I grew up a Bears fan but married a Minnesota girl who is a huge Vikes fan and now my 4 year old has turned into a big Vikes fan. So this has made me a somewhat Vikes fan. But the reason I hope they stay is that it is so easy to go to their games and my son loves them (not as much as ISU games but it is a cool change of pace for a football game). We can leave by 7 in the morning to make a noon game and be back home by 7 at night. My son and i have done that twice this year and it makes for a great day to spend with him. Really hope they stay as I was looking into getting season tickets with my father in-law who already has two season tickets and could easily sell the games we can't make it to.

In all honesty i can't see the twin cities letting their marquee sports program leaving. Someone will step up with a new stadium, IMO.

I would probably jump ship to the Chiefs if the Vikes moves.

No one has yet. The voters have voted it down building a new one several times.

Other than the Vikings being one of those "traditional" teams since the '60s with a lot of history, and more often than not I hate the idea of historical teams throwing away 50 years of history for money, particularly over a stadium, I really have no stick in this fight.

The funny thing is the media claiming that the NFL just HAS to have at least one team in LA for it to remain relevant. Funny - not having a team in LA over the last 15 years hasn't prevented the NFL from strengthening its position as the most dominant, most relevant league in America, as well as making it "America's Sport". I just don't think the media itself can stand the NFL not having a team in America's #2 media market - the NFL, on the other hand, is fine. Even more funny, the impending strike of next year is doing more to harm the sport than not having a team in LA has done to the league over the last 15 years...

I actually think this is good news. Zygi has the leverage he needs to get a new stadium built in the Cities. The problem is pitching a new stadium while taxpayers are still paying for Target Field.

Honestly I would never, ever vote for taxpayer money to be used on a stadium. There are several studies done that show it is a net loser for the community. If they told me ISU had to get a new stadium or they would leave I would vote against it even then. It's a ridiculous waste of money and it irks me that the owners don't pay for the whole dang thing.

This only applies to Hennepin County voters. Only Hennepin County is paying off Target Field's public portion. Note that Hennepin County includes Minneapolis and the West Suburbs but not St. Paul and the East Suburbs.

Minnesotans are slow learners. They didn't want to pitch in for a new home for the NorthStars. So instead they practically give away a new arena a few years later to attact an expansion team. That exchange cost the tax payers millions more not to mention the tradition of their team.

For the record, I am not a Vikings fan.
