The Twins beat Detroit 4 -1. They now lead the AL Central by 1/2 game. Who could have predicted this? Of course they are only 15 - 14.

Hmmm, I guess they must not have run into the buzzsaw that is the Seattle Mariners yet! If they had, they would probably be 19-10 :biglaugh:

Youngest twins team in a while also. Good things to come in the coming years with the new twins stadium and alot of young talent

Hopefully their pitching can keep it up and their bats get going. Just think if that happens. Morneau hasn't gotten hot yet, Cuddyer hasn't done much, and Young hasn't even started to get going yet. If these guys can just have their average year and the pitching stays the exact same then it could be a great season. Then again they are only 29 games into the season and there is a LONG ways to go.

Morneau hasn't gotten hot yet? His stats may looks deceiving...but he is hitting far over .400 with runners in scoring position last I checked. His batting average is the only thing that hasn't picked up yet, but his run production is stellar right now. If Delmon, Kubel, Cuddyer and Mauer can go on a tear, the Twins would be in great shape.

I think Cuddy and Mauer look pretty comfortable at the plate...especially Mauer. Delmon really does need to pick it up, and he has the talent to do so. I'm not so sure on Kubel if he is going to be able to be a consistent hitter...but his time is now to prove that he can. We pretty much know what we will get out of Mauer, Morneau and Cuddy.....Delmon and Gomez will probably decide if we are an avg lineup, or really good lineup.

Let's not get too excited, everyone in that division is within 2 games, even my Royals.

Morneau is starting to get comfortable at the plate. I'm not expecting much today, however, as he is 1 for 12 in his career against Rogers.

I was going to start another thread, but I will just add on to the one from yesterday.

Twins win again!
After being down 6 - 0 after 1/2 inning of play, they come back to win 7 - 6.

It is looking like they shouldn't be 20+ games under 500 in the division this year. I just hope the pitching holds up. The bullpen has had a lot of innings this year already.

The Tigers being a monumental bust and the Indians and White Sox not taking advantage has left this division WIDE OPEN. The bats for the Twins are beginning to wake up. I think this season will be predicated on the pitching (something we've been talking about all season). If Hernandez, Blackburn, and Baker keep surprising, if Bonser can find some consistency, and if Liriano can pull it together, this could be a memorable season. However, that is a LOT of ifs...

Huge comback win yesterday! Just think if we can get Liriano back to 2006 form or even near it.
