Royals' fan here. We signed Jose Mijares over the winter. He had some success with you guys. Is he any good? I've read he's overweight and that's caused some problems for him. I know last year he struggled.

Royals' fan here. We signed Jose Mijares over the winter. He had some success with you guys. Is he any good? I've read he's overweight and that's caused some problems for him. I know last year he struggled.

Mijares was a stud for a couple years before going downhill last season, and I'm not sure why. I was disappointed to see the team give up on him so quickly, especially given how thin our bullpen is. His weight might have something to do with it, but it could be personality/work ethic issues, too--one thing I've learned about the Twins is that players who don't "buy in" to the club's system get put in the doghouse or kicked off the team pretty quickly.

I'm still surprised Zumaya didn't throw out his arm signing his contract with the Twins.
