As shown in another thread, these numbers are, at best, incomplete and, at worst, skewed to fit a narrative.
I guess a message board poster's opinion creates a fact in that regard?
Because or the Nelson ratings? Becuase I don’t want to believe that 2.6 people were so bored they watched Rutgers/northwestern

I watched parts of both Nebraska/Minnesota and Northwestern/Rutgers because football. Not sure why that is so hard to understand.
It was the only game on during that time slot lol you could've stuck any two P5 teams in that slot and they'd have pulled similar ratings. Those two teams suck.

You're usually pretty balanced, but this one is a slip on your part. The data I provided in the other post was directly from Nielsen where THEY said their data was incomplete (ie the exact data presented in this post) and wouldn't be complete for several days after because it's missing so much data from other viewership channels. So, your comment should instead be directed at them. Or are you saying they're not reputable? Also, wouldn't you consider a complete data set to include ESPN+ and ESPN app viewership? I know I would.
Ummm this does include numbers from the espn app. If a game is only on ESPN+ it’s viewership is going to be too low to realistically matter
I suppose I could have been more clear as to what I was suggesting- rather than post a thought that readers would have to wade through another thread to find a basis for, maybe post the reasoning with a link if necessary too.
I'm guessing most people aren't inclined to search out the basis for that statement, so it's either take you at your word, or disregard it.
Agreed. It being the first full CFB weekend of the year helped immensely though. Betting also drives engagement. Maybe not a ton, but I had Rutgers -6.5 in a parlay and I can tell you I truly only tuned in to see if that hit.

"'virtual MVPDs' are added several days 'after' these numbers." If you know what MVPDs are, you'll know that's a significant number. Also, you're assuming ESPN is releasing their app numbers, but again, I read on the Nielsen site, they're not available.

FWIW, I've seen ESPN+ numbers from The Valley and they're both shockingly higher than you'd think but pretty low in the scheme of things.

DirecTV is fighting with Nexstar, who carries local affiliates from all 4 major networks. Depending on where you live any one of them may be blacked out
