On a post a few days ago someone discussed how we were going to enter the field this year..........I knew it was going to be different and better?!?!?! They said they knew that our entrance would involve a tunnel and smoke...........that's awesome.

Does anyone know more specifics? Also, can anyone assure me we won't have to listen to the bells of Iowa State?

VERY EXCITED and VERY CURIOUS!!

The Bells of Iowa State would be better than the old Jock Jams nonsense they were coming out to.

Whatever they come out to, I'm sure it's gonna be pretty sweet if Pollard is behind it. I think one of the reasons they're doing this is because the crowd hasn't gotten seatied in the past until about 2 minutes after kickoff. Therefore, they're going to want to make it raise the hairs on your arms.

The Tornado sirens are going to blow 45, 30 , and 15 minutes before kickoff....I'm not sure if they will do it at the entrance as well. They are also going to have a giant helmet involved in the entrance of the team.

So they're officially adding sirens? Oh man, game day atmosphere is going to rock this year! Moving the band to closer to the students was already a great idea, the tunnel/smoke idea has grown on me, and adding the sirens to when the team takes the field will put the cherry on top. I can't wait!

AMEN!!!!!! I am super-pumped!!

There was an e-mail sent out to students that was posted here a while back. It mentioned the smoke, huge ISU helment, sirens, etc.

I gathered from the e-mail it would not be the Ames sirens, but a "tornado" siren inside JTS.

Actually, it will be at 90 (gates open), 60 (countdown clock starts), 45 and 30. The pre-game show usually starts at roughly 19 or 20, so there'll be no siren at 15.

I got that e-mail, and it made no mention of sirens... but it did say to arrive early. Maybe these are the sirens they're talking about?

Maybe it was an e-mail I sent and received from JP...asking about sirens.

I just know whatever I read from ISU about 'em...it seemed like it wouldn't be the City of Ames sirens unfortunately. Hopefully I'm wrong. ;)
