The #3 ranked Tulsa Talons pay their first visit to Des Moines on Saturday night. This is the the #9 Barnstormers home opener and rumor is that a very large crowd is expected. The first 5,000 attendees will receive a free cowbell for the game.

Kick off is at 7:05 at Wells Fargo Arena.

The Official Tailgate has been moved inside of Vet's Auditorium and will commence at 4PM.

If you are able to make it to the game, you can watch it live and free on the internet on Nifty-TV.

My best friend is the head coach for Tulsa but unfortunately I am unable to attend. Cheer like hell for the Barnstormers and give Coach Allner hell!

I was never big on the AF2. Now that they "rank" their teams, I hate it even more....

That said, have fun watching "football"!

I went to high school with Allner. I knew he had played in the Arena League, but I didn't know he was a coach. That's weird to see a guy I knew in high school as the head coach of a pro football team.

My mom went to school with someone that coaches the Baltimore Ravens. His name is Wade Harman. He coaches Tight ends and offensive line.

You are the king of derailing threads...

Broodwich, you still plan on regular tailgating? We're going to give it a go, and hope the rain doesn't start till like 6:30 or so. Probably head towards downtown around 4:00, grab some B&B Deli and head over to that tailgating lot. If its raining, we'll probably just sit in our Pathfinder and drink in comfort. As far as crowd size, I'd anticipate at least 10K. We bought tix on Tuesday, and best available seating was 200 level ends...

We bought our tickets on Thursday and could only get tickets in the 300 sections. All the rest were singles in the 100 and 200 levels. It should be packed.

OK, you can still get tickets in the lowest level, but they're $42/each. That's a lot for arena football. To get a pair in the "cheaper" areas, you looking at the 300 sections.
