Picked up a new truck the other day and I’ve been doing a little research on bed liners, but not sure what I really want to do. Seems there are plenty of pros and cons for any option.

I’ve narrowed it down, I think, to spraying the liner or a mat system.

Any thoughts from the good folks on CF?

I would definitely do a spray or brush on. I've seen a ton of rusty beds from the mats and plastic liners.

Go with the mat. Much cheaper. Had mine in my 2002 Sierra since it was new, maintained it, zero rust.

This guy does a comparison in his vid. Great channel btw. Lots of love for Line X in the comments.

Spray on 100%. Plus you get protection on the entire bed, not just the main floor. That makes a difference if you use the bed a lot.

I bought a truck that has one that is form fitted for the model, not a spray on. I don't like it. A few places it isn't connected as well as it should be and I'm sure there is tons of crap under it that is eating away at my bed. It's a clunker so it's not a big deal, but if this was my daily or work truck, I would replace it.

Get the spray on.

Spray in is much better. I had an off-brand on my old truck, and the Linex is better.

Close second would be the bed rug, especially if you have a topper. I know a guy with that setup, and it's pretty darn nice.

I did it myself and used raptor liner. Very happy with the result. Just take your time taping it off.

Sounds like it. I’m not sure if those were manufacturer/ dealer- installed or aftermarket, but they were pretty popular for Tacomas for a long while. And caused a lot of problems judging by the used ones I looked at.

I always had a drop in liner or a mat until I bought my most recent truck with a spray in liner from the factory. No way would I ever have anything else now.

Line x. Great Nationwide warranty. If I remember right, it cost $400 but it works and looks great. Next month it will be 6 years I've had it.
