I find that smack somewhat odd coming from a twins fan being they are 5 games under 0.500.

It was a bit sarcastic - my wife is slowly converting me to a cubs fan. I'm just making sure I have the lingo down. But in all seriousness, I really think that Wagner would be a good signing - they need him desperately. As for the Twins, I would rather see Mauer with a new contract than the twins making the post season this year.

Why would an overpaid .500 team make any moves this late in the season??

No, they probably won't make any moves this week. However, this should free them up to spend a little more money in the offseason.

My early offseason wishlist:

2b: Figgins or Hudson

SP: Harden or Lackey

RP: Wagner

Yep, and I think that means that the Cubs passed on him (and every other team in the national league).
