He is actually worse than Royce because Royce can play. I would say that a kid who is 7'1 and barely cracking the top 100 is not really that good. Guys who are 7'1 get rated because they are 7'1. Look at the kid in Iowa City. He was ranked top 50 and he is not good.
Actually Woodbury had a pretty good list of offers also. Also, I do know Royce could play.

The way it sits now, there is no scholly room for this year. Next year there are two spots, but hopefully one will be taken by either Diallo or Ellenson, both of which I would rather have than this kid.

There really was no gamble whether he could play or not. The whole gamble was whether he could stay out of trouble. I think you would be gambling on both categories with this Maryland kid.Of course we know Royce can play now, that much is obvious. But when Fred took him, he was a big gamble too. Probably higher ceiling, but had a ton of issues too.
