Who do you think was the big winner now that the trade deadline has passed?

Cubs - Harden
Brewers - C.C.
Dodgers - Manny/Casey Blake
Angels - Tex
Yankees - Pudge, Nady (Got ride of Farnsworth & Hawkins)
White Sox - Griffey Jr.
Tigers - Farnsworth
Boston - Jayson Bay
Pirates - Alot of Prospects

My Pirates are considered winners!!!! They haven't been considered that since the early 90's.

Put them in their just for you. I don't think they won the deal with the Yankees and I nkow you didn't like seeing them trade away Bay but I think they got a lot back from the Dodgers that could help them down the line.

I'm biased toward the Dodgers, but have to believe their potential for this season has been altered more than any other team. Might hurt them in the long run depending on what happens with the prospects given up.

Up until now, the team has been battling in a weak division to get to 0.500 - and has been doing it primarily with pitching. The addition of Blake and Manny could amount to a run per game or more. That changes everything for the regular season, and in a playoff series a shortened pitching rotation very much favors the Dodgers - assuming guys get healthy.

I personally think the Dodgers will now win the west going away and will have a legitimate chance of getting to and winning the World Series. As I said, I'm biased, but if that is even close to true - nobody improved themselves more than the Dodgers.

I'm going with the Angels. They already had the best record in baseball and added a big bat to an already tough team. I think the Texiera move might have turned them into the favorites in the AL now.
