1.) Because they're Oklahoma. It's just like ND and Michigan...have to be absolutely terrible to not be in the top 25.
2.) Because they've actually lost some close games to some decent teams and because they have a Heisman Trophy winner on the bench
If Iowa is the 11th best team in the country, I'll still take OU in the top 25.
I don't know how you can't do that. They've played well enough when they needed too.
I'm still not sold on their offense, but their defensive unit(especially their secondary) is one of the better ones I've seen them put on the field. Our loss to them doesn't look too bad right now.

That doesn't sound like a top 25 team to me.
They lose 16-13 to Texas with their Heisman Trophy QB on the bench and they shouldn't be ranked?
They absolutely pound a Tulsa team that gave #5 Boise State a run for their money and they shouldn't be ranked?
I think OU is still a top ten team.
Yep, it's fixed. I swear I looked at the date and it was Oct 18th. Plus the record even showed the L.

I can see a very small argument for them being top 25. Not top 10. Absolutely no way, no how should a 3-3 team EVER be ranked in the top 10.

That post is a close cousin of the "ISU should be really be 5-1" thread.
Actually, ISU could very easily be 5-1 right now, but there's no way OU should be near the top 10.
The point of the post I responded was that OU had lost a bunch of close games, and should therefore be considered a top 10 team - which is of course, laughable.
I would never vote for a three-loss team in the top ten, but yes, I consider OU a top ten team.
Several Tulsa players said there was "no comparison" between OU and Boise State...
