Lunardi keeps harping on Michigan and their " Top 25 " victories. I thought at one time we were third in the nation in this type of victories. Where are the looking at does anyone know the breakdown.

Relax. 2 or 3, either way, we're sitting in a great spot. Did anyone seriously think we would be in contention for a 2 or a lock for a 3 back in October?

Anyone remember when we were losing in the first half of our exhibition game?

According to ESPN, ISU is 2-2 against the RPI top 25, 9-5 against the top 50
Michigan is 3-4, 10-4 for reference.

This includes conference tourney games.

We had a bunch of wins over teams ranked in the AP top 25 at the time of the game, which really doesn't matter as far as tournament seeding goes. Iowa, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas were ranked teams when we beat them.

I remember when I thought we were going to loose to uni. (Eiu's big brother)

this is something else. who would have thought that we would ever have been in this position this year. getting "mad" about what our seeding will be.
enjoy the ride...

One thing that I will never forget after the 99-2000 season is that getting the seeding that you deserve is VERY important. We should have had a #1 seed that year and if we would have, we would have faced Michigan St in the final 4 on a neutral court, rather than in Michigan in what was functionally a road game. If ISU fans don't stick up for a strong and logical seeding, why should the national media?

I'm still smarting over the #2 seed that year, too. Changed the entire pace of the tournament to play Michigan St. in Auburn Hills. They (and maybe Florida) were the only teams able to stop us, and if you put that in a truly neutral arena we might have a very different outcome.

Exactly. And MSU handled Florida much easier than us in the championship game. When they beat us, they had won it all. We got hosed by that seeding. And people on here don't seem to mind it happening again.

Seems to depend on ranking system and who's spinning the data. Here's a comparison of 2 ranking systems and top 50 wins nationally. ISU & Wisconsin effected greatly.

#1
ISU 12-6
KU 12 -7
AZ 11-3
WI 10-4
MI 10-5
FLA 9-5

#2
KU 12-7
AZ 11-3
MI 10-4
FLA 9-2
ISU 9-5
WI 7-5
