Tommy in Des Moines on the radio

Another reason to love Tommy is cause he hails from the beloved East side! I used to live there and would run into him all all the time. His voice is just like it is on the radio. And believe me, he looks exactly like he sounds.

The real Tommy

Somebody has GOT to get a picture of Tommy sometime!

There was an article about him in the Rag a few years ago. If I remember right, he cares for his brother who has some kind of disability.
He's been calling in a long time. I remember when Soundoff started in 1979 or 1980 with cotlar and he was a regular caller even then.

NOT A GOOD START FOR THE CHIZIK RADIO SHOW WHEN THE FIRST CALLER IS TOMMY AND HE ANNOUNCES HE'S A HAWK FAN!!

Sometimes it takes this to get "juiced up" for new Cyclone fans, like Chizik. He will learn the passion he is asking us for.

I don't think "Tommy from Des Moines" has anything on the ******** guy from Newton (also a big hawkfan) who calls in and talks about his paper route. When I lived in Newton, I remember seeing him peddling his bike around with the hawk flags all over.

These guys are the true face of hawkfan(tm)

Every fanbase needs their delusional diehards, and Iowa lost one of theirs today. My condolences to his family and Hawk nation.

Kxno morning shows addressed his passing. Even though he was a Hawkeye the passion he showed in his calls was something that I think we all can appreciate. Condolences to his family and all Hawk fans.
