I hope hope hope this is a game where we can look back and go “Tom Manning you dirty SOB.”Well, who’s better?
Any chance either team breaks 20 points?
I am really more interested in Brian Ferentz vs John Heacock.
I really like that matchup.
If we break 25 pts I cannot help but think we win. It's do-able, especially with our offensive talent.Heacock has held BF’s offense to 13 and 18 points ever since he made the switch.
Our defense will do enough, it’ll be Manning and the offense that will need to play a clean game, but also get creative.

Manning wasn’t here in 2018. He was in 2017: 41 points and 2019: 17 pointsDid you watch the 2018 game? Iowa countered what Manning was doing (hitting receivers and backs on the flats) and moved its linebackers to the outside. They took away what was working early. It was a trap they set for Manning and Manning fell into or bought into it hooklike and sinker. With the linebackers further out, it looked like up the middle runs were advantageous from the booth. The problems was two fold. First our zone read wasn't really a read, there was no read option. Our QB (Kempt) was going to hand it off to Thomas every time. So the Iowa DEs never had to worry about the QB, all they had to do was crash in. Seondly, the zone read we were running is a relatively slow developing play, it allowed the Iowa linebackers, who were positioned further outside that normal, enough time to back to the middle. The remedy for what Iowa was doing was quick hitters up the middle. For the love of God I have no idea why we didn't try that, it would have forced Iowa back inside and opened the flats back up. I know they had quick hitters in the offense because they used them later in the year against Texas. The point here is Manning can have a bad day, he can be had. The last time he coached against Iowa we only scored 3 points. I think Brian is the better OC. ,Manning has some great games, but also 3 or 4 a year where he really struggles.
wow, how did a miss that? My bad. It was a pathetically called game in 2018, maybe if Manning were here he would figured some stuff out.Manning wasn’t here in 2018. He was in 2017: 41 points and 2019: 17 points
Yeah, because we didn’t have a GM1 like Iowa. Kempt was a warm body too.wow, how did a miss that? My bad. It was a pathetically called game in 2018, maybe if Manning were here he would figured some stuff out.
