Not saying hes the reason we lost, but what is our record in eades officiated games?

I know this is ridiculous (then again the fact that any of us care this much about watching sports is ridiculous), but knowing he will be officiating us hurts my enjoyment of the game. The guy is just god awful.

I mentioned this to my wife at the beginning of the game when I saw he was officiating although he's better than Paul Jansen or Tom O'Neill. With that said, you are right, he was not the reason we lost.

Eades may be bad, but he can be counted on for "make-up" calls that go our way after he makes a really bad one.

reffing wasn't great, but neither was our shooting.

Reffing wasn't even on the top 20 list of why we lost. I didn't see anything that was that bad

I don't know if anyone else noticed but the officials were playing into the crowd really bad last night. One case in particular and I don't remember who it was but we committed a charge and it was the right call but the official waited at least 10-15 seconds without making a call and then made one of the more emphatic calls I've seen. We played like **** but that doesn't excuse the officials from last night.

Who was it that made that charge call for JorBo? Where the refs blew the whistle then looked at each other for like, 17 minutes before deciding to call a charge? Refs aren't why we lost, but that was ineptitude at its finest. It's like they figured it should be a foul, but had no idea why for a while.

I believe we are talking about the same call.

It didn't take long for Jok to get the star treatment this year. That dude is incapable of playing defense without grabbing and pulling. And what was up with the shot at the free throw line where he pushed Monte' aside with his head and then shoulder to clear a path to take the shot?

As others have mentioned Iowa didn't need any help tonight beating an ISU team that had no interest in running any semblance of an offense or rebounding the ball.

Thry handled it correctly. It boils down to the infraction occurred right on the edge of both of their "zones" on the floor. They both blew their whistles to signal said infraction. Instead of one whistling block and one whistling charge they deferred the call to the other thinking the other was the official for that zone. Yes it was an awkward 3 seconds waiting but it was done correctly so you don't piss off everyone involved.

I don't care where the hell it was on the court that was awful. It wasn't like it was really controversial or anything. My dad an Iowa fan agreed it was awful.

Edit: I'd give it a pass if it was a normal signal but it was obviously playing to the crowd with how it was signaled.

The fact that we even know the ref's name says all we need to know. If fans care at all who the ref is means that they're way too involved with the outcome of the game.
