Just got back from seeing this movie and it really opens your eyes. You guys make fun of me on a daily basis, but what if someone took it the wrong way and it really made a big impact. That one thing could change everything, but you guys don't care because you would never have to meet them since its over the internet. For example this was posted today:

it was meant to make fun of me. What if? that is the question, what if that hurt someones feelings enough that they did something to themselves. The movie is a real eye-opener on how we can hurt someones feelings so easily and not even no. Something you thought was a joke could easily be hurtful to someone else. I just want you guys to think about that, and also go see To Save a Life. It's an good movie.
 
second that, what the? i get being sensitive, but i also believe in having enough in yourself to be strong no matter what... so with that i say... um okay.
 
Buddy, life is too short to take things personally. Especially stuff that is as stupid as the **** that gets said on this site.

Cyber bullying is a big issue..... Mostly with kids and people below ages of 18 or so.

I don't know about you Cycofan but you can't take everything so serious. It's easy for people to bash each other and say stuff they would never say to you face to face. You have to realize that.

People that end up killing themselves over message boards and such stuff are usually people in a bad emotional state. And it's usually something that pushes them over the edge just enough.

I have never seen much bullying here on CF. The mods do a great job with it. You see more serious problems on sites such as Facebook, myspace, and other sites that dont' have mods looking over everything going on.
 
I get where he's going with this. I think people probably do stray from the golden rule alot and don't realize what effect it may have on someone who is wired differently. On the other hand, I think everyone should work on developing some thick skin too.
 
Seems like you can't take a joke.. maybe I'm the only one who laughs when I see someone screwing around with you. Don't take it the wrong way, we're not trying to 'bully' you.
 
I also think.... Younger kids need more parenting and more supervision on the internet then adults do. And message boards require an age limit. The reason why the majority of suicides are kids is because they are not mature and emotionally stable. They also take things way too seriously.

I know, I don't take it the wrong way. Don't get me wrong I do it all the time to my friends, but the movie just makes you think about what you say and do to other people.
 
His point is a good one. While people need to be able to shrug things off without consequence, everyone should try to be a better friend/coworker/husband/wife/son/daughter etc... to the people around us. Even those of us on the internet. It would make everyone's lives a bit better.

It's too easy to make fun of people online. If you're easily offended, stay away from the internet.

One of my friends on Facebook has a great quote in their profile: "Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."

Maybe you shouldn't watch movies anymore...or stick with Disney.

I'm not complaining I'm just showing you how this happens everyday to all of us. We don't even realize we are saying these types of things to each other.
 
Alright well sense my post got used I guess I'm reply

First, let me start off by apologizing, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, it was purely wrote in a joking state, but It obviously hurt your feelings and for that I'm am sorry, I didn't mean for that to be the case

Secondly, I think a lot of people give you crap because ur kind of seen as the "little brother" of this site, ur prob one of the youngest people posting so ur the one who gets picked on, like a younger brother, its kind of along the lines why people refer to IcSyU as becky, not to be rude but just as a way to poke a little fun, not to be hurtful.

But like I said earlier, I apologize and ill watch what I say from now on

the only thing you should be apologizing for is that 2 people posted something different before you put up Cycofan1. That was brilliant, but a touch slow.
