Time to come together

Unite by accepting that G-Mac is going to be coaching Iowa State next year. Unite by stopping the bickering over the same tired points day in and day out. Unite meaning, giving the rhetoric a rest.
Unite by cheering for Iowa State, not because you like the coach, but because you love ISU.
Do any of these things.

My point is that "uniting" as a fan base doesn't do much of anything. We "unite" when we sit in our seats, not sing kum-bah-yah on a message board.
I have a good friend who "accepts" Gmac, cheers for ISU, and is always positive. Oh, yeah, he only buys the $99 season tix for men's bb and doesn't donate either.
The key word is passion. That's what drives revenue, and success. And with passion come questions (lotsa good ones) when the bb program is awful like this one is.

So is it acceptable for "passionate" fans to root against the clones in your mind?

You sound like a control freak.
How in the hell does a Cyclone fan "rooting against" Gmac while watching the game in their living room affect the program one little bit? Are they casting some sort of spell? Black magic? How would that affect DG's free throw, or Dendy's jumper, etc.? What difference does it make what Gmac's critics do, or don't do, with regard to the performance of the team? It doesn't!

Such a straw man... i cant recall more than one or two saying they'd be rooting against the clones.

Well, I guess I can't fault you for having a bad memory.

You sound like you smell bad. (There, we can both make unfounded accusations. Seriously, what the hell?)

You're right, those folks do literally nothing. And if they want to sit at home, screaming at their TV, then I guess that's their decision. But, I have a much more difficult time categorizing them as Cyclone fans you do. They aren't Cyclone fans. They're just not. They're pathetic.

I'm sensing a sea change here....

I'm betting the dozen or so hard core anti-gmac posters do as well. We are all sick of the constant back biting, the constant call for change when it is obvious none is coming, the constant beating of the dead horse.

The masses are excepting that gmac is our coach next year. Like I said, although their collective post count is high, the actual number of posters on this board contantly feeling the need to bash everything MBB can be counted on your fingers and toes.

"Bashing"=List of concerns that needed to be stated.

Its true that McD will be our coach next year, but I'd be concerned if people weren't upset.

I'm pretty sure that my neighbor who leaves her garage door open & lets 3,578 feral cats live in her garage will be just as much of a blight on the neighborhood at this point next year as she is right now. Just because I can't do anything about the situation, doesn't mean that I'm going to throw a big "YAY! I'm so GLAD to have you for a neighbor" party for everyone on the block.

You can look at your crap sandwich and say "Well, this isn't so bad. Look at all the condiments we can put on it to hide the taste!" Me? I choose to say "You know what, I'm still full from lunch, so I'll pass on the sandwich thank you very much." It's a simple choice of how we deal with the situation.

I am not accepting of it...I actually take exception with it.

Next year is year 5 of the GM era...not year 1.

By the way, do you have extra fingers, extra toes, or extra of both?
