TILLER!

Tiller did fine, he didn't make any significant mistakes and we won the game. It is clear to me neither AA or JT have the necessary accuracy to be an effective spread QB, for this reason I would like to see more three back sets AA, Woody and Arob, or throw Shontrelle in the mix, challenge the O Line to run block and see if we can shorten the games with more effective running and keep focussing the D on trying to get some turnovers. With out being able to Run the ball effectively or Pass - Conference play could get really ugly from what I have seen thus far. For this reason, I would like to see some additional focus on trying to get the run game going again. Great job Jerome for leading the team to a victory.

That's because the coaching staff didn't allow him to throw any interceptions. I think he had like two attempts over 15 yards.

Very true, and our receivers still had to make plays to prevent interceptions at least twice instead of playing to catch the ball. My biggest problem with Tiller is his decision making in the read option, which should be the easiest thing for the backup to do. Three out of the first four read options he made the wrong call, luckily our O-Line was flattening people at that time and he got away with it. A couple of other times later in the game he made the wrong call and it showed... Arnaud on the other hand always seems to make the right call on the read option...

Keep in mind Capello's parents are on the boards now! Also he's just a red-shirt freshman give the kid a break! You cant analyze him this early!

Who says I'm analyzing Capello? I'm just saying he's not in because he's clearly not ready, and who knows whether he'll one day be the answer to our QB situation - I'm not the proud owner of a crystal ball. I hope he is, but considering our QB situation over the last decade, color me skeptical until he proves something.

Tiller threw for 90 yards against an inexperienced terrible group of DBs. With Arnaud we put up 40+ today.

At best, it's a wash. Tiller didn't turn the ball over, which was a plus. Perhaps it's not just the QB that's the problem? Still too many penalties, not enough push on the line, etc. The offense as a whole needs to get better, whoever the quarterback will be, or neither will be successful.

I thought Tiller did a good job getting us downfield most of the time. He's not perfect, and he didn't set the world on fire, but he didn't get the false start, illegal formation and holding penalties in the red zone, either. Those are total drive killers for this offense.

Tiller should have thrown a TD to Lenz except he underthrew it by about 5 yards and it nearly got picked off. Tiller should have thrown another TD to Darks who was WIDE open and Tiller overthrew him. That's 14 points left on the field and if we ever need to win a game scoring 30+ points, those are plays that need to be made and Tiller didn't make them.

He also had two guys wide open on the sidelines that he overthrew by a good 20 feet.

Arnaud put up just as many points with the same amount of handicaps against a much better team. Sorry, Arnaud gives us a better shot at winning if he's healthy. Look at the numbers. Tiller wasn't very good.

This made me laugh.

Not saying Tiller is the second-coming. Some people like to use that term, so I thought it would be cool if I used it also. I don't think too many people think Tiller will lead us to the promised land. I do think that Tiller offers hope, something that Arnaud can't deliver.

At this point, does it matter if it is Arnaud or Tiller missing receivers and leaving points on the field?

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

This made me laugh. If there is hope for ISU after watching the Tiller-led offense, "hope" must mean something else in your world than it does mine.

Also, the Cyclone offense problems extend much further than the quarterback. Maybe some people will start seeing that after tonight - maybe.

Yep, Tiller wasn't very good. However, he didn't look much different than the 5th year senior he replaced.

??? What game were you watching? While I was only keeping track of the game on my ESPN Droid app, it seemed like every single time we crossed into the red zone, the very next play we were flagged for holding, false start, or illegal procedure...

Fine, let me edit that to "something different".

Neither of these 2 QB's have a chance to lead the offense to 40 points.

The 5th year senior quarterback playing in his third offensive system. Barely any quarterback (or collegiate player of any position for that matter) has to endure that. Absolutely no consistency/continuity.

I doubt it. Because you can ONLY blame one player for all of the team's problems (and the luster hasn't worn off of Tiller yet, although he was worse than Arnaud was against K-State last week).

Excuses. Are you planning on being Arnaud's agent?
